That is beyond fricked up and any parents that can't work with each other on visitations while a child is sick needs to be beaten within a inch of their life.

Agreed, but it still happens. And the nurses are busy enough as it is taking care of their sick child, we don't have time to play referee with that crap.

I've had a mom get pissed off at us because a nurse updated the father on the status of the patient. When legally....we cannot deny that information to a parent.

Why is this such a sticking point? frick. And my kids always get off 3 weeks for Christmas. I was wrong about 2 weeks off for Thanksgiving.

The best arrangement I have heard of (both parents must live in close proximity of each other for this to work), is a 50/50 where one parent has Monday & Tuesday, the other parent has Wednesday and Thursday and they rotate Friday through Sunday

too much changing hands for kids

7 and 7 is much better

The 2-2-3 does require parents to communicate and actually co-parent their kids. The 7-7 lets them check out for a week at a time. If the kids have stable homes with each parent and understand the routine, then the 2-2-3 appears to be working well and gaining ground in parenting schedules.

That's all good, but there is also a ton of bonding that goes on with all things such as bathing them ( you said young kids) feeding homework and such things. I guess that's more of the parent side of things and weekends are parenting still but more of the friendship side if that makes sense. I just hope I never have to be away from my kids ever due to a divorce. I feel for the parents that have to.

I'd much rather be the fun time parent. Kids aren't going to remember or celebrate the "parenting". They're going to remember & talk about the good times.

Somehow their CS determination was no CS owed, aside from the splitting of school fees, activities, etc.
That said, she got the 2 story 6 bdr home in a UC type gated community, the beach house timeshare, their Jackson Hole timeshare, & her 2 cars-1 sports car & the other the suburban.

He got to keep all his hunting & fishing stuff, including his hunting lease.

I'm glad my parents weren't idiots about all this. We pretty much went wherever we wanted to go.

Disagree. My stepson just turned 18. His dad was hardly around and only did the "fun" things. Even though when younger he hated his mom being the "parent " and loved his dad being the fun one, he now respects the hell out of his mom for what she did and resents the dad for not having done more parenting

We do the 7-7 and it seems to work ok.
I get the opportunity to stay on top of school stuff while he's here etc.

No child support. I just pay half of whatever comes up And to the fool who said that makes me a beta. The % only comes into play if you two don't decide before hand what the divorce decree will be. I make 3 times what she makes.

She sounds like a mother that wants to be with her kids, so in essence, she did win. The dad is now an every other weekend fun dad who won't share the same emotional bond as the mother.

He gets every weekend.
They get off the bus at his place on Fridays & catch it to school on Mondays.

He takes them fishing, on weekend trips, & has a pool at his new place. Goes to every sport/performance & also helps with drop off/pick up fot activities as needed He's quite involved/present.

Oh, forgot to mention that he does pay for all their cell phones. And will be paying for each kids' vehicle when the time comes.

My plan with the ex is
Mon Tues
Wed Thur
Fri Sat Sun

It has worked great so far because we are civil and communicate like adults. That is the plan in the court papers. However, we often deviate it as we see fit for our daughter's schedule and both our work schedules.

Our daughter is 6 and has adjusted just fine and everyone seems happier.

We agreed neither party would pay cs. I am paying medical insurance and we split private school tuition.

It can work if both parents are adults.

Sounds like two reasonable parents who did what was best for their children. Amazing how much better off EVERYONE is when the adults truly care about the children involved.
