Do it cheaply. You don't need the best...the state will literally hire anyone at this point. Find one that will see him/her graduating with as little debt as possible. Starting salaries for new teachers is LOW. You don't want an albatross hanging on your neck

That was pretty bad idea for me in 1992. I had to teach myself the whole damn class before finals. I’m hard headed too, had to work every problem in that damn book.

Also - if you factor in the ridiculous amount of vacation they get, they only work about 70% of the year anyway, so making 70% of a job that works all year is actually justified, yet no one in education wants to admit it.

I'd probably take a fairly substantial paycut for 15 weeks off every year.
