You don't need a lawyer for bankruptcy. The whole point is you don't have any money. You just go tell the judge. She might want to see an ATM receipt but more likely than not is just ready to get out of there and go to lunch. Tell him don't waste what little money he has left.

I have PTSD from mine in 2012. Trenton Grand was very affordable and did good a job for me. Pretty simple CH7 with a bunch of creditors I didn't even know about (ex wife fricked me during separation) and she was diverting my mortgage payments to a rental and caused foreclosure.

I'm the rare case where it really wasn't my fault, God dammit!

CH7 is a long arduous process. It's nothing like 15-20 years ago. Much more scrutiny and more restrictions.

Be warned, Chapter 7 is when you're pretty much destitute and don't own anything worth a damn...they'll make you sell most everything to pay off creditors.
