I wouldn't call them "disasters" but I have a couple of memorable ones.
Our first Valentine's Day together (we had been dating about 8 months), I had made reservations at Copeland's and had tickets for the movie Valentine's Day at the theater right down the street from the restaurant.
She lived on the east side of Atlanta, the restaurant/theater are near where 75/285 meet on the northwest side. That weekend Atlanta gets hit with a snowstorm and the roads ice up...no way to get to the restaurant or movie.
Fast forward a few years and we are married. Maybe our first or second Valentine's Day as husband and wife. I don't remember what we had planned, but I end up sick as a dog the day or two before. We end up ordering pizza and watching a movie on TV before going to bed by 8:30.

Did she get a 3 finger combo?
Most likely. And I'm sure he got the box.

Also this is a oweo post
It's slightly better than an oweo post because it didn't start "So this person I know . . ."

Picked up a pretty hot chick at a bar on Valentine's 2005.
I imagine Tinder has ruined that little form of hunting.

every year I end up working a shut down at a paper mill in Savannah, GA on Valentines Day. My wife was going to come down and we were going to go to a nice dinner that night because I had another safety guy that was going to cover the next day. Well one of our foreman fricked his hand up pretty bad about 30 minutes before quitting time so I had to deal with the plant safety people and write up a report and deal with the Worker's comp people so by the time I got done it was 11 pm so no Valentine's Day nookie for me. Its hard to get one in the mood when you are covered in paper mill stink.

Could've been worse.
A few years ago, I arranged for our in-laws to keep our kids so I could surprise my wife with a stay at the Grand Hotel for Valentine's Day.
It got very intimate, but not like I'd hoped.
By 10:30 PM we're rotating through the bathroom like it had a revolving door.
Around 1AM, knowing there was no way I could make it to the lobby bathroom without leaving a trail of diarrhea, I literally shat in the bathtub a foot away from my wife who could not/would not vacate the toilet.
Good times.

Rookie.
Every now and then, I like to use my other hand. Builds strength, character and feels like a new hand.
