I’d argue that the new Terminal C I think? out of Orlando is the nicest terminal in any airport. It’s only for JetBlue flights though. It is a bit of a maze if you have to return a rental there though, but security and layout once you’re inside is awesome

What kind of local food does Portland have?

Apparently Newark is pretty bad.

I think the posters having ATL rated high and DFW rated low must all be BTR based flyers who get stuck on that DFW B-terminal finger pier with the regional jets. Also....it's a sign you've never been through LAX.
Flying 737's out of MSY, ATL and DFW might as well be the same airport (e.g. more/less symmetrical layouts with once every 2 minute train service between terminals on the secure side).
DFW gets the slight nod from me having 2 stops per terminal and escalators going both directions leaving the individual stops. Sometimes ATL you end up with some long walks if your gates are toward the ends of each terminal.
IAH and ORD are far worse for connections. Last Friday I had a 30 minute walk at SFO from gate to gate (from terminal D to G), which is also ridiculous.

Omaha.
After they're done it'll be even better.

Toronto followed by JFK, but specifically just this one terminal there that seems like a waiting room for hell. The mall terminal is cool except you have to walk 2 miles.
ATL is great, except everything you have to do before you finish going through TSA. LGA and EWR (until recently) are also solid.
LAX is a mess, but Barney’s Beanery makes me forget.
MSY felt like a pit of despair, but I flew in and out during Jazzfest and I think it had to do with how drunk everyone seemed.

unless you’re flying out of old-arse Concourse T.
T (northern half) is the same age as A through D.

Why? Flying to there on Saturday. Do it once or twice a year, and I have never had a problem.
Same. I actually like that airport.

Usually connect in Denver,
Anytime we fly with the kids, I try to connect through Denver. The outdoor area by the hotel is awesome to chill out during layovers.

Long Beach is awesome
Open air and small - through security in 5 minutes
Feels like your flying in the 50's
Much better than LAX

IAH. Also the Eco park shuttles for some f’ing reason have to drop each person off at their actual car.
The Parking Spot at IAH, HOU, AUS all take you to your vehicle too. What's the problem with that?

Worst for me is LAX. Rental car is way off site and traffic so bad I have been on that rental bus for 45 minutes trying to get to terminal. Airport is very old and beat up. Food selection is terrible.
My favorite is DFW terminal D. Easily laid out, newly renovated, and food/bar selection is great.

Flew in and out of John Wayne last week. It was very easy to deal with.

I find O'Hare not that bad - it just takes a while to get to and from the rental cars via the tram. It's big, but not that bad compared to others. ATL is great to connect through - much better than IAH.

but if you’re parking at North Springs or Doraville it’s likely going to take longer than had you simply driven in
Unless it's after 3 PM on a weekday, then you're toast if driving. Used to get dropped off at North Springs and rode the train down there, never had an issue.

I think everyone can agree
Best: Detroit
Worst: Charlotte
And Atlanta is great considering the passenger load and if you hate it you don’t travel much.

Newark
Newark for domestic wasn't great, mainly because the temperature control where Delta parked was nearly non existent during the summer. But ORD domestic has a special place in hell for having 150 seats (yeah, I counted that day) in a gate area that has 5-6 737s boarding within 90 minutes of each other from that gate area.
LAX forcing you to collect bags for international inbound flights, go outside, schlep them 100 yards, and check them back in for the domestic connection on the same carrier is bush league. Thank God for international non stops out of IAH.
Nobody has mentioned FRA that I recall. No free water almost anywhere, and EU to US connections require a trek that is five or six times farther to get to the Z gates than you whiners complain about getting out of customs at IAH. Up, down, escalator, train, down, up, escalator, etc.

Atlanta is the easiest airport in the world to navigate. Maps everywhere, train that gets you there in no time. Amazes me how people put that place down.
