Quick update from IM, we lost power around 5:45 came back a little before 2 or so…. Everything is good on the island. Me and the neighbors cleaned up our street. Cell data is still down and so is my wifi, had to borrow the neighbors. It’s all good other than a little cleaning up. Pretty much everyone I have talked to has power but a few spots.
Good luck to everyone in Texas!! (Including my house)

I will say my dad noticed something years ago. They seem to jog right when they hit land.
The late great Nash Roberts often talked about a similar 'jog' that he saw when TS and hurricanes passed over the edge of the continental shelf. When going inland he said you could count on a job to the right, and then the path would continue.
I've wondered if a similar jog would happen when leaving the shelf. Should be interesting to see the departure from Yucatan.

When is the next update?
I imagine that it will be past the Yucatan by that point, correct? So we should know a lot more about the path

If tweet fails to load, click here. Piecing together satellite and aircraft recon data, #Beryl's vortex is tilted roughly southwest to northeast with height. It's not as badly tilted as earlier GFS and HAFS forecasts surmised, but Beryl still has some shear/dry air to fight and reorganizing to do before restrengthening can begin in earnest.

HMON into Matagorda Bay. HWRF just to the south. That's about 70 miles north of Corpus.

Will be interesting to see if she reaches 971 or lower before landfall like the latest HWRF.

The specks are huge down here. The 3 limit bag sucks but the fishing is pretty good.
