I've been going to Benny's for over a decade and never had a single person pester me about getting the membership. There used to be a dude at the Perkins location who would find "microfractures" on the windshield of pretty much every care which came in for an oil change in an attempt to get you to let him replace it.
Other than that guy (and then his wife joined him), I've never had any problems.

The "members' gas discount" is a joke.
The gas discount is pretty impressive. I've got you down as a not interested on the Benny's membership.

The Benny's on Greenwell Springs Road between Oak Villa and Monterrey almost prints money. The 90% + Democratic demographic that lives in that area washes their cars like no other group I've ever seen. That particular car wash is continuously busy from open 'til close, every single day.

I cut them off and tell them I don't live in the area anymore. They ask where I've moved to and I say I just moved to Colorado, I'm down visiting family and getting the rest of my stuff. They usually leave me alone. Works here in Texas too

Tell them you're visiting from Vermont for a few days, then ask THEM, do they have any locations in Vermont?

The gas savings is good last I checked

Running your car through the high pressure streams and brushes of an automatic car wash plays absolute hell on a car's paint. After a year or so of that and it'll be fricked and faded.

Worked there for around 2 years while I was at LSU like 15 years ago.
If you saw the shite that we pulled out of the wash tunnel at night or what we pressure washed off the rotating brushes at the end of the day I guarantee you'd never run your car through a tunnel wash again.

I remember when it cost $3 to wash a car.

Have you never heard how sales work?
Posted on 3/28/25 at 3:52 pm to lsudave1
When they start punching the screen for me like they're "helping" pisses me off. I just cancel out of everything they've done and ask them to step back.

I’m tired of being talked down to like I’m a retard by the employees for not buying the membership.
You do realize that for the one time payment to get a car wash without a membership, you can get UNLIMITED car washes for the ENTIRE MONTH if you got a membership. So yeah, you likely do suffer an intellectual disability to do the math,

You cannot accuse me of being intellectually disabled while ending a sentence with a comma yourself. Also, I pretty much split time between NOLA and BR so I’m not frequenting Benny’s enough for the membership to make sense.

Is there any other good automatic car wash y'all recommend that doesn't try to sell you a membership every visit?
Posted on 3/28/25 at 6:05 pm to lsudave1
Last I checked, rain was free.

I pulled through some carwash on vets about a year ago and pull up to machine, and this girl is selling washes. I ask for the cheapest one, mainly just wanted bugs from commute off. Girl says oh you can go through, I've sold too many cheap car washes today already and don't want to mess up my numbers.
I was flabbergasted, I was like, no i want to pay; but she wouldn't let me.
Guess that owner is losing his arse on employee incentives. Be careful out there.

Some of you guys make things way more difficult than they need to be

I pay at the pump for my car wash they just ask me my code and punch it in for me. When I buy beer inside they ask me if I am interested. I say no thank you. Benny’s does a lot for the the community and charities.
