Exercise, eat better, meditation, yoga. These things helped me when I battled depression years ago. I just didn't want to be dependent on pills.

I think it is important though to realize that medications are important as well. But yes those things you mentioned are also important.

Build a fire. Build something... anything - small business, porch swing, new hobby, travel plan... make something your's.
