Where i saw Lnch go on and on was where Pecker absolutely said he knows what it's like to be a parent. He even said it's "proposterous" to say he doesn't know what it's like.

Are we now just making it up as we go? Here’s the exchange (verbatim):

quote:

L: People that don't want kids but act like they have a clue about the stress that is parenthood.

P: Why do I have to have kids to know that parenthood can be stressful?

L: You can know it while simultaneously not knowing it. You can't appreciate it until you actually live it.

P: I don't need to appreciate it. You suggested that I'd need kids of my own to know what it's like. Which is preposterous.

I actually do have a clue. I know what parenthood entails - I was actually a child once with good parents who worked hard. Parenthood, and the responsibilities associated with it, isn’t some black box that we sometimes make it out to be. Parents remind you every day of how difficult it is. This isn’t a mystery

Not if it's CNA or LPN, no.

A CNA is never considered a nurse and would never use RN

And LPN is not an RN either. They legally cannot say they are an RN because they are not licensed as one.

You don’t know what you are talking about

hospital administration does

So why does it need to be on badge?
My job has requirements. They aren't plastered on my badge.

I think that’s what he’s saying.

You are simply wrong

You can have an understanding, a very basic one, but you absolutely cant say "i know what its like to have kids" before you are a parent

That is far too general of a statement to make

I think you are confusing physical toughness with a lot of other things.

Let me put it this way, a lot of morons could be lumberjacks, roofers, etc.

I’ve been in a lot of jobs, active military, lumber yard, concrete crew, a lot.

Teaching is the hardest one to be really good.

Then why wouldnt the hospital just put RN for those nurses that are RNs, and not for those that arent?

Most hospitals don’t even employ LPNs anymore. Our hospital got rid of all of them almost 10 years ago.

So all nurses are RNs

The exchange rate is like 2 dogs to 1 kid, right?

See, I know you’re smarter than this. You know that wasn’t the extent of my argument, so why are you conveniently oversimplifying and then parsing my statements?

Because it projects a better image of the hospital if most of their nursing staff at least have their BSN.

Shows their nursing staff is more educated. Studies have shown that a higher % of BSN nurses correlated to lower patient errors and higher patient satisfaction scores. Considering those things now determine how a hospital is reimbursed....it’s a big deal.

Again....it’s an image thing for the hospital.

Uhhhhh, your quote word for word shows what I said was spot on, but you said I'm "making it up"

Me: where Pecker absolutely said he knows what it's like to be a parent. He even said it's "proposterous" to say he doesn't know what it's like.
You: You suggested that I'd need kids of my own to know what it's like. Which is preposterous.

So...what are you talking about with the made up part of my post that you quoted?

quote:

I actually do have a clue. I know what parenthood entails - I was actually a child once with good parents who worked hard. Parenthood, and the responsibilities associated with it, isn’t some black box that we sometimes make it out to be. Parents remind you every day of how difficult it is. This isn’t a mystery
You think knowing that it's tough equates to knowing exactly what it's like? How old are you? That's hilarious.
