Drove to the Target on Siegen and I-10 and parked in the lot and started making my way to the entrance where a beggar out of no where comes up to me with some sob story about how he is trying to get back to New Orleans but doesn't have enough money for gas in his car. I told him I have no cash on me thinking that would be enough to get him off my back but he said "No problem there is an ATM inside and kept following me". I thought ignoring him would get him to go away but he literally followed me into the store and all the way to the grocery aisles where I was going.

Then I told him I am not giving him any money and he said "Why you gotta treat a man in need like that". I told him to leave me alone or I am getting store security and he told me "frick you, hoe arse" and left the store.

I went on my way and as I was leaving saw him leaving with a 12 pack of Fanta Orange and a large bag of Cheetos Puffs. I tried to get him to make eye contact with me but he didn't return the glance. He then stashed these items in a large duffel bag he had, slid it underneath a shopping cart and approached another potential victim for his scheme.

Well it was the numerous number of them who stand at highway exit ramps and intersection corners at lights that inspired my name.

But loitering in a Target parking lot and following me into the store expecting me to take time out of my day to redirect my route to the ATM and withdraw my hard earned money to just hand to this guy for nothing in return is a whole new low for BR area panhandlers.

If I was homeless and begging, I'd invest in (2) pair of boxing gloves. $1 a punch.

I fell for that sob story and gave that dude a 20. It has to be over a year ago so he's been running this scam for a while

He tried twice in 2 days with me. Second time I gave him the 1 finger salute before he could start his sob story.

I did once, bought a homeless man some bread, canned goods, and some water from the store. Brought it outside to him and he replied with, "what the frick am I going to do with that. Just give me the fricking money"
Apparently, food wasn't important

They're all liars who don't want to work and choose to live that lifestyle. I don't give them a damn thing.

Can't buy drugs with bread, canned goods and water. Hard to sell those items as well

Well now I just look at every homeless person as a scam and I refuse to give them anything.

Some broad pulled the same shite on me at the Walgreens on college. I told her I would call an uber for her. She bought it. Probably still waiting there for a green Honda Accord

Yep, actual homeless people who are actually trying to improve their life will utilize resources like shelters, food kitchens, charities and churches, and obey their rules(i.e. stay sober, curfew)

Then you have the "homeless by choice" people, who are more likely to be your average panhandler

My brother was a “street performer” in Barcelona. He and his buddy had a show where one dressed up as a white ninja and the other a black ninja with padded suits and staffs. If you put $ in the white bucket he would hit the black ninja and vice versa.

They had to take turns on who was the black ninja because he got hit way more.
