Didn't she have some mental and addiction issues she was sorting out? My understanding is that she focused on getting those under control first. I think her plan now is to lose the weight and get back into acting now that her head is in the right place.

I'd say being molested as a kid by a Hollywood perv is a bigger problem. Being fat is likely a symptom of that problem, as it is with a lot of molestation victims.
