And they won’t ship to Texas.

I have 3 high end consignment shops I stalk up here and have found some real treasures. Unfortunately, all the higher end bamboo and rattan pieces are in Florida.

Have a pair of bamboo chairs and matching bar butler got from Florida in the 60's. They had painted all in peach / coral high gloss and looked lovely. Still looks good today but did have to rebuilt and recover the seats.

Not a bad idea. I’ve enjoyed finding pieces here or there over the past 2 years but a treasure hunting trip might be fun, too.

Wonder if I could rent one of those Pods and have them deliver to my lakehouse here.

I’ll be glad when middle class white women stop painting everything with white chalk paint.

Oh, that reminds me that the Northeast also has fantastic furniture finds there.

I live in my own retirement town so I no longer have to travel for vintage furniture. Lots of estate sales here

Ahh thanks!

I have heard horror stories from friends trying to sell stuff on there. Is it that bad?

yes but it is worth it to get rid of stuff sometimes easier than a garage sale. When we downsized after the flood I just had people show up back to back all day. Whatever was left at the end of the day was donated. It was easier than packing everything up

In the area of Little Rock that I live, I sell and buy stuff all the time on a local BST group. It’s porch pick up only, and it’s 100% housewives who either buy from me or vice versa. I don’t ever use general FBMP, that can be dicey.

I occasionally use it to sell kids clothing that can’t be handed down, and a few times when cleaning out my closet. I made $1000 a few months ago just selling dresses, shirts and a few jackets. It can be tedious to photograph and price/post it all.

I’ve found some great deals on kid’s clothing. Found a local girl who’s son is a year older than my toddler and has the same name. She monograms everything and now just messages me when she’s cleaning out bc she knows I’ll buy all her pristine monogrammed stuff. She under charges me and I consider it a Godwink.

Think how nice the original item would have been if it had been stained something like this color….

Would have highlighted the bamboo instead of dulling it

I never used it when I lived in Louisiana. Not a chance.

Somewhat related but we just got a new mattress last week and need to get rid of the old one. Wondering if people actually sell used mattresses? Our old one is maybe 5 years old, Serta, had a protector and in good condition. I really just want someone to take it and am not looking to make much. What should I charge (if anything)?
