First of all, here’s what women want - I’ll use direct observational experience from my time in the bush flying low and hard in my penetrator for over 200 missions from 16-19 on Tinder:
Be masculine
Don’t be creepy
Good hygiene
Be a good kisser
Be funny
Be intelligent
Be a Renaissance man…have other interests besides Harry Potter or ESPN
Listen to them
Be affectionate
Be masculine (that’s twice) and live a little on the dangerous side
Profession/education are irrelevant if you’re the above
Be masculine

The current generation in their 20's to 30's number 1 thing they want is money, followed by social status. Everything else is a distant 3rd and highly negotiable.

For the most part I am with you OP.
I'll go on a somewhat decent amount of dates with women and it's not just to have sex with them, but to have a good time with them. I don't set high expectations with them, just hoping they're cool as hell and fun to hang with. Most end up sucking but the ones I really like always just screw me over or get a lot worse over time. Sometimes what they do gives me reason to doubt them, but sometimes I blame myself. I'm not a 10/10 stud or the easiest person to deal with, but I consider myself somewhat good looking, smart, funny, and interesting.
Regardless, with my experience with women, they've pretty much haven't been worth my time and it might be weird for me to say this, but I wouldn't be against being single forever. I've had a lot more bad experiences than good with women, and there are times where I tell myself if they're worth the time and energy. It is what it is to me.

Social media and thirsty men, much like the 4 inch packing betas, who worship women in those cringe threads have given girls an unrealistic idea of what they deserve. 50 year olds with a profile pic of his truck should not be commenting on 19 year old girl’s pics. If you’re guilty of this, delete and repent.
Anyway, Only Fans & Tinder & Instagram & other platforms have allowed simps to basically worship women being whores. Inflated ego college 19 year old thinks those looks will never fade. Of course majors in Psychology lol and graduates with a C-
She will spend the next couple years “finding herself” and documenting via Instagram but also getting piped down for 45 solid seconds by the 50 year old overweight guy who funded the trip. Or guys now, thanks to OF.
Her looks will fade and she will be a bartender who shite talks about there are “no more good men” with her vagina looking like a WW1 fighting trench from all the use.

The problem I've realized with online dating is if the women were halfway worth a shite they wouldn't have to be on a dating site.
Think about it. They literally have a fricking vagina between their legs and yet they have to resort to online dating to find someone. 
That's like a guy showing up to the club in a Lamborghini with a fistful of Benjamins and still going home alone.
If a woman can't find a man it's likely because they are:
A) An insufferable bitch
B) Batshit crazy
C) Have unreasonable standards
D) Some combination of A, B, and C
Think about it. They literally have a fricking vagina between their legs and yet they have to resort to online dating to find someone.

I'm early 30s and on dating apps. Well educated, have money, etc. The issue with women is that they have completely unrealistic expectations about dating and relationships. A lot of them are also career women who can't cook/unsure about having a family, their looks are fading due to age (late 20s/early 30s), and most only talk about going out to brunch/drinking/social media/stupid bullshite they watch on TV. They are completely superficial.

When all they see on social media is a carefully crafted bullshite facade of happiness and harmony and perfection they wonder why they’re the only miserable person when everyone else is so happy.

I know I can do it all, but I don't want to do it all. I believe in equality, etc. but it has been taken to the extreme. Women need men just as much as men need women. When did it turn into a war to see who is better? We are made to compliment each other, not compete against each other.

people don't go to church anymore so that built in network is gone.
dating coworkers is a no-go for most younger people and a huge % boomer/Xer marriages came from the workplace.
with more educated/career oriented people, moving to another city or state is becoming a lot more common, thus you lose that network.
add in COVID and things just aren't great.
