On bull mastiffs, several years ago in my area a lady was out jogging and a mastiff attacked her and tore her face almost off and killed her. Fast forward to two years later in the same area and a different mastiff mauled and killed a 4 year old kid. The kicker is the dogs were brother and sister from the same litter. Completely unreal

It does not, among many other very important factors.
It's simply statistics without context. It doesn't matter, most people have their mind made up because they don't give a frick about dogs one bit. Dogs are lower than them. It's much easier to look at a chart like that, refer to Occam's Razor, and leave it alone.

I mean I think Pitbulls are trash dogs with few redeeming qualities. But I expect statistics pointing out how awful they are to have at least a shred of credibility. Which I've yet to see.

You are aware these dogs were originally bred to fight, hunt and do other similar things right?

Insurance actuaries work based off statistics. If people in Louisiana get in more car crashes than people in Washington, rates are going to be higher and they're going to be less likely to be insured. Does that mean that people born in Louisiana are inherently worse drivers than people in Washington?
I understand your argument here, but it's just flawed. Actuaries make statistical analysis based off what has happened in the real world without any context as to why it's happened.

Provide a link? A link to what? I'm telling you that you're not smart enough to understand why that chart doesn't prove anything. You can't even keep up with our argument.
Also that's not how this works. Yall are in here claiming that pitbulls are dangerous, yall provide the proof. You link to me to a credible study that points to some gene that makes pitbulls more dangerous, I will gladly rethink my position. Until then this thread is full of nothing but people spouting unsubstantiated claims.

It has been posted on here several times that pits are responsible for more deaths than ALL OTHER BREEDS COMBINED.
That doesn't mean that all pits are dangerous. What it means is they are more prone to killing people than all other breeds.
The big problem is you can't tell which pit is gonna go postal until there's a body in the yard.

I didn’t say other breeds weren’t, but if I’m looking for a dog as a family pet I’m not going to go with one that was designed to hunt and kill.
