Perspective - I am NOT a dog person.

My son has a full size Goldendoodle that is about 1.5 years old and a son (my grandson) that will be 1 year old in October. The dog is fantastic with my grandson and with everybody else too - loads of personality and very smart. No shedding, low maintenance, but craves attention. Excellent dog in all regards - has a doggie door that gives him access to the fenced back yard - comes and goes as he needs to. Highly recommend.

Beagles are sweet dogs but when outside they are nose to the ground, if they pick up an interesting scent they are gone.

When I mow, I hit pot holes all of the time. We have moles on our land, and our Beagle is gonna dig until he A. finds the mole, or B. finds water.

He's such a good hearted sweet boy though.

Can confirm they run off though and don't listen real well.

Wouldn't trade her for anything.

Then don’t get a doodle. Every pet parent will tell you they are they greatest thing ever. But every pet care professional will tell you they are one of their least favorite breeds to deal with.

If I hated you I would advise you to get a beagle.

I have a standard Goldendoodle....and she is probably my best friend.....she is a big old goof and likes to chew socks but she's cool.

I’ve had a bunch of beagles in my life. My dad was a rabbit hunter.

Beagles are sweet and cute, but they are sometimes hard to turn into house pets. If you can do it, you’ll have a great dog. But many of them just aren’t wired that way.

If you want a beagle for a pet, find one that’s a few years old so that you can know its personality.

Golden retrievers and poodles are both fantastic dogs, I'm sure the mix is as well. But, can they teach your kids to sing good like a beagle?

Beagle personalities are great. I have had a few over the years that were always a pet and not for hunting.

You don’t need to wait a few years to find their personality, unless you’re adopting.
