re: Beach etiquette - setting up a 4 wide tent city right in front of the boardwalk

Why be thankful for inconsiderate people? These people are blocking the main thoroughfare for EVERYONE who paid for those beach chairs. They should move their tents to a different location.
Having just gotten back from the beach, most of our time there was uneventful. However, there were a few instances of inconsiderate or rude assholes. One being a pair of old ladies who decided to sit down right in front of our paid for blue chairs. We asked them nicely, "would you mind moving down a little bit. There's no one sitting in those chairs." They said, "no, we're not moving". So we started setting our shite up damn near on top of them until they moved.
It's called common courtesy. I find a lot of the times, the culprits are from the Northeast.

right where they are asked to be, not in front of the rental chairs.

It's a beach on the Gulf Coast, I think I will pass on any raping. If I happen to be setup in one of the 5-6 chairs in the direct path. I may discuss passing through when lugging my shite or charging an excise tax every time I have to walk around their umbrella empire.

Most places, including other Phoenix properties do not allow anything to be set up directly in the path from boardwalk to the water. Defending these morons is certainly a take.

Low decency standards.

1. There isnt a single Shibumi in this picture.
2. I dont think you know how the sun/shade works on the Gulf Coast.
3. It doesnt matter what type of tent/shade/umbrella/encampment you have, the beach faces south so your shade will move right to left as the day progresses. The bigger the tent, the bigger the shade, but the shade still moves out from under the tent as the sun sets...
4. This set up isnt bad. I just got back from a week to the beach where we had a 3 tent encampment, but then again we had a house and had the beach to ourselves.
1. I don't know what the name is, let's just call it a frickBoy tent
2. Pretty sure I do which is why you don't try to shade yourself with something that's tall and umbrella's are better
3. Again, the umbrella is closer to the ground so the shade doesnt move as much. You simply lean it and you're still in the shade
4. The pop up tents are silly. I can have 4 umbrella's in the ground faster than one tent, do them all by myself with no help and have just as much shade as one tent. The frickBoy tent is even worse because it takes up twice as much room as one pop up and offers less shade. Juts cause you do it too doesnt mean it's the most logical. It's just what some people know.

There is no "main thoroughfare" on a beach, and how are they blocking anyone's path to chairs that are located on either side of the boardwalk access?
Considerate people have spatial awareness of their surroundings. Considerate beach goers understand that if you setup directly between the ramp and the chairs, that other people will have to alter their path to get from point a to point b. Only an a-hole will still think "frick em, i ain't movin. They can walk around me".
Again, you are the problem.

It actually helps using red, you pass by the trash cans for all of your empty's.

Hundreds of people staying at a Phoenix aren't using those chairs every day.
The obvious better decision here would have been to set up the tailgate on one of the sides of the white beach gear storage boxes rather than between them as to offer the easiest access to the boardwalk for all beach goers.
I don't even know how people could try and argue this.

The problem is the beach chairs. They set up 500 and only about 50 get rented most days.

They were booked up for most of the time when i was in Destin last week.

The ramp is perpendicular to the chairs, so it's only directly between a few of the chairs.

I don't bring tents to the beach, so no, I'm not the one that's a problem.

Another example of no self awareness anymore.

Wow, all those poor people whose chairs weren't located directly in front of the boardwalk access. How did they manage to get to their chairs? What a travesty!

Its rampant in certain circles.
Most of us were raised better.
frick its the Gulf Coast, half the people there are probably too fat to walk far. Leave walking lanes open.

1) I count roughly 10 setups that it is blocking.
2) It doesn't matter how many you are blocking, YOU ARE STILL BLOCKING THE BOARDWALK. Stop being an a-hole and setup elsewhere, away from the ramp. It's not hard. It doesn't take any work to be considerate of other people. It's laziness and indifference to others that causes this.

Yet you are defending the assholes in this situation.

Nah, I just don't see the big deal here.
