Now that the state is in a "budget crisis", state troopers are out in full force. There were 5 on I-10W between BR and Lafayette this morning. Also saw at least 4 on I-10E. With great weather, nearing the end of the month, and the "budget crisis"...they're going to be out all weekend.

There's always a few cops on that stretch, but this is overkill. Does there really need to be 9 cops on a 45 mile stretch of road? I feel its more dangerous to have that many cops on the road than if there were no cops.

I doubt that is the reason...they would just raise the fines

Don't the fines from LSP tickets go to the parishes they were issued in?

I thought you were posting about the need for caution because of all the fricking idiot drivers in this state.

FYI: don't drive like a fricking a-hole and you'll have nothing to worry about.

They could solve the budget crisis by ticketing drivers with no headlights or rear lights in the rain and fog.

There were 5 troopers on the Clearview exit checking for brake tags and seat belts.

You're one of those people that drives differently if there's a cop around? That makes you a pussy.

It's going to be like this for a while. I'm sure most state agencies have been instructed to look hard to collect any fines and fees they can. It has definitely been occurring to oil and gas operators for a few months now.

Or by ticketing assholes who sit in the left lane.

They need to ticket left lane coasters and people texting and driving and put all that money into schools. I’d be A.O.K. with that.

and that one that hides in the shadow of the overpass on i-10 by the mall. parks his car in the shade where it's harder to identify.

How about the motherfrickers who block intersections when the light for other cars turns green?

Be especially careful on I-10 near Williams Blvd. in Kennah, brah.

I saw a bunch of LSP cars there.
