A friend went to a dermatologist and got shots in his scalp and it worked.

Just start cutting it short and quit worrying about it. You will actually start to love the fact that you have very little to worry about on a short cut hair style or even once you just shave it.

In the end it it’s gonna look tons better shorter than a guy who tries to do styles to hide it

It took me awhile to accept it but I finally shaved it odd years back. You'll enjoy spending a lot less money on hair care. Plus you can rap into the group of women who like bald men. They are definitely there.

This topic should be pinned. It’s discussed here at least once a month.

The only thing more pathetic than a balding man trying to hold onto the hair he had left is one that has surrendered and shaved his head bald

Minoxidil plus finasteride work really well for a lot of people. The earlier you start the better the results.

This is the best answer. It works. Try it. Also get more sleep and try to worry less.

Been on Propcia since I was 23. I am 37 now. Have kept my hair and have no regrets. Used to pay $70 a month when it first came out and at 23 years old that was hard to swing. Now you can get a generic three month supply for like $40. Well worth it.

Not everyone has the right shaped head to sport the shaved look. LOL

No bullshite, that's not something to laugh about. Seriously, your vanity won't come without terrible side effects. You've been on finasteride for 14 years. A drug that wasn't meant to treat alopecia...it was meant to treat enlarged prostates as it's a reductase inhibitor. Further, reductase inhibitors have been linked to prostate cancer.

So enjoy your locks which will inevitably be gone while undergoing chemo.

Not only that, but you've spent roughly $10K giving yourself a pretty fricked up inevitable health issue. Clippers would have been your best bet.

Propecia baw. It won’t grow it back, but it will hold it and keep it from regressing more.

However, side effects include erectile dysfunction if you’re unlucky.

Wrong. Studies show it actually reduces the chances of prostate cancer BUT if you do get prostate cancer while taking finastride it can mask the symptoms by keeping your prostate from enlarging when cancer is present. As long as you get your yearly blood work or physical you can detect it.

You're absolutely correct.

Being that this drug is an inhibitor of 5 alpha-reductase, it should inhibit the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone, the primary androgen in the prostate, and may reduce the risk of prostate cancer.

However, with that said, but this possible benefit and a reduced risk of urinary problems must be weighed against sexual side effects and the increased risk of high-grade prostate cancer.

I mean, for me personally, that's a pretty huge gamble just to have some strands on my head. I understand the need for some men to have hair, I suppose. I just wouldn't want to take that chance on my prostate. Seems silly.

I've been using rogaine for 3 years now. It has really slowed the hair loss down, but it hasn't made any grow back.
