Y’all’s baw Jeff Landry signed a bill making digital products subject to *the new higher* sales tax.

Enjoy the 10%+ surcharge on that, ESPN plus, turbo tax, etc, etc.

What I said was going to happen is already happening. They raised the rate on you, and expanded what is taxable. And it’s going to keep expanding. In the name of reducing the income tax, which most of you pay very little of.

A consumption tax is far superior to an income tax. Let me decide what I want to pay instead of taking it out at the beginning.

Not sure why you used Netflix as your example, the libfag of streaming services.

Residents of Louisiana are the tax base because there are no commercial taxpayers. All they’re doing is shifting the tax burden from one tax to another. Rich people (making 250k+) are going to save money, people making 100k-150k are going to be the same, and lower income people are going to have less money at the end of every year.

That’s not good for anybody, but it’ll be popular among idiots like you for the first couple of years because you don’t understand it

Wrong because they increased the standard deduction to cover sales tax for poors

So as long as poors actually file taxes they get the sales tax increase covered

Only people hurt are illegals or others getting paid in cash and not filing

He isn’t a popular man on this website. I wouldn’t really refer to him as “Y’all’s baw”

The original proposal would not have raise the rate, but after all the lobbyists were through they preserved about half the exemptions for services, so they raised the rate in addition to reducing some exemptions.

Meh. They are both trash.

Replace all of it with property taxes instead.

I'll pay the extra $1.60/month in exchange for $800 less in income taxes.
