St. George is a bad idea.

You need downtown BR to be in your city.

St George would be the Eagleton to Baton Rouge’s Pawnee.

The mailed me a petition with a self addressed stamped envelope to return.

I know nothing about the actual plans or infrastructure but I signed it because I’m racist.

Is that you John Delgado? Your trashy bars aren't that important. Some of the biggest companies in Baton Rouge are inside the St. George boundary.

I love how people are gullible enough to think that the running joke that is St. George wil ever happen.

It honestly sounds like a band-aid on a gunshit wound. It's still Louisiana after all is said and done.

Why would they need either hospitals or schools immediately? That’s putting the cart before the horse.

Until they ask BR to annex them so they don't get hijacked into an idea with no real plans behind it.

At least 2% better, yes 2%.

That's because St. George would spend the 2% sales tax that Broome and cigh hall currently get better than they would.

And if SG were eventually to get an ISD, I'm betting they spend all that property tax the EBRSS currently gets better than they do too.

Isn't one of the major points of St George to have better public schools?

Asking for the long-term vision and how to achieve said vision is not unreasonable.

Nobody has given an answer to any questions about that. How will you pay for infrastructure? Schools? What city services will be provided? How will they be organized and who will run it?

Will garbage pickup be all inclusive or will you go the terrible AP route?

Nobody can give an answer to any of these.

Yes, but becoming it's own city has to occur before any of those other things can happen.

Those St. George leaders have no clue how much money they will need. Taxes will likely be over 10% on sales and they will most likely have to add property taxes to cover other unexpected cost and there is still no school in the budget.

no basic city services are in the budget either, they are basically going to compensate BREC, DWP, EBRSO, EMS and bunch of other for existing services. Ill pass.

Sounds like they want Prairieville without having to move their house
