This will save the criminals in New Orleans from having to spend gas to come commit crimes in Baton Rouge

Getting from BR to NOLA is not hard. Straight shot on the interstate. Don’t see the need.

I know the baws here hate the premise of this idea, but commuter rail has proven to work in almost every region it’s been established in, minus maybe Los Angeles.
Can you provide some examples where city to city passenger rail works outside of the dense northeast?
And by work I mean pays for itself .

This is like building a train between Corpus Christi and Beaumont not Dallas and Houston

Is the train going to have a stop at the airport in N.O.?
It is a single track I believe so would be pretty useless for convenience to/from an airport unless you feel like waiting for hours.

Can they just combine the murder rates once it's up and running?
We would have the murder rate on lock at that point. Everyone else playing second.

That’ll be $20 million to set up a few committees to discuss possibly drafting plans for a potential commuter train

beats driving to New Orleans and getting car jacked I guess
Posted on 8/12/22 at 4:48 pm to goofball
Wow, so the carjackers and murderers can set up an exchange program.

0 reason for this. As if any real commerce is being conducted anymore. Nola is nothing but hospitality garbage, personal injury clowns and the some wanna be celebrity Doctors. There’s no industry and no need to go between these two cities.

If there's a commuter parking lot, just hope your car is there when you return.

Yeah because there is no crime in Baton Rouge yet.
I'll take what we got now instead of when the New Orleans poors don't need a car to come up here. Our car gangs at least know to go tear up the shithole down I-10 before tearing up the backyard.

North Carolina, between Raleigh and Charlotte.
Florida’s Brightline service, between Miami and WPB (soon to be Orlando).
That’s just in the southeast.

Baton Rouge commuter station >>>> NOLA commuter station

Will it take me to and from Tiger Stadium and will they have an express that leaves at halftime?
EDIT - Just kidding. I don't leave at halftime.

Meanwhile, the I-10 bridge in Lake Charles is on the verge of disaster. I'm glad to see our priorities are intact.
Can you give me the details on this incoming disaster?

The money is going to spent and I’d prefer it here rather than in Mississippi or New York.
If they can manage it above the level of say a…Popeyes I’ll ride it a few times a year
