No, I don't see a problem.

Isn't that area kind of shitty these days anyways?

No, the area is still nice. It's a little too close to government and florida to invest that much money in my opinion, but it is still nice. Whether it remains "nice" remains to be seen.

Who is complaining about a shooting in Ferguson?

A dumbass pulled a gun on some people and the Apartment security guard told him to put the gun down several times before shooting him.

So what is she whining about? Desperate to be tag teamed in Canfield Apartments, on the ground where MB passed away?

This is absolutely true. Modern left wing foot soldiers are more like progressive totalitarians. They are not actually liberal.

the weird thing is that they associate baseless abstract thinking with "liberal thought" which is why you see so many new terms and trends among hot SJW topics like race, gender, etc. None of it is based on quantifiable facts.

Emotional appeals are basically like throwing a wrench into a logical debate.

It's easy to deliver a divisive message that triggers an emotional response than a logical argument even with smart, level headed people. It's practically child's play when you are trying to exploit the easily (and historically) exploited.

The reality is that the plantation house in question here is going to take a lot of money to maintain it for generations. Developing a property of historic value isn't really ideal, but it has been done before all over the world and it helps secure the future of the historic structure.

Much of the lower delta was developed on former plantation property, especially river towns like New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Donaldsonville, Plaquemine, Port Allen, New Roads, etc. This is not a new trend.

Perfect example. This is why when someone uses that nonsense argument, you should point to Webster's and explain why they're wrong. I'm all about an open mind to good arguments but bastardizing language shouldn't be tolerated in any real discussion.

Have you read the definition section in the "race relations" section of the transition team report?

Ask this ignoramus what color the people were who captured their African brethren and sold them to the slave ship runners????? Hhhmmmmm????

You bring up a good question, one which I have never had answered. So, pretty much the SJW's and a lot of blacks hate white folk because of slavery. Right, I get that. But, what about the Africans that rounded the slaves up and sold them? I mean, it's not like the American's got on a boat and rounded up a bunch of Africans and enslaved them. So, are the blacks and SJW's made at the Africans for selling their people into slavery?

It's an absolutely legitimate question. Africans are just as responsible for slavery as Americans? If so, why is there not indignation towards Africans?

They all look alike to SJWs, so they don't know which ethnic group did the selling.

I drove past it yesterday, and after seeing that plantation home sitting in the middle of that cleared land, all I could think was, "This is going to piss somebody off."

Interesting stuff about it....

The house was built in almost 170 years ago on land originally granted by King George III - almost all of which was developed into Baton Rouge already.

The rest of the already developed land is perfectly fine but now that it is 2017 we all have to be offended.

I love MM's assumptions and generalizations about it being an all white neighborhood and potential burial ground site. I guess if you are black, Asian, Hispanic, Indian, etc you can't live in this neighborhood according to her.

ETA: If you buy a home in there, does it automatically mean that you must support slavery? Since everyone in their obviously is buying to memorialize slavery and not the architecture or history of this city.
