I don't know how people feel about Kip, but Kip was pro business and the city really grew under him. Katrina had a negative impact on BR, but at least you still knew where most of the crime was happening..

Kip knew how to invest in things that would give a return to the city.. Like the Country fest thing. Memorial Day weekend was one of the slowest weekends for BR hotels.. That event came to BR and all off a sudden all the hotels were packed.

He invested in downtown and brought people down there with events like live after 5. State workers keep business open during the weekdays, but building up downtown helped those businesses by brining people in that area after the state workers were gone for the day.

Now, there are shootouts down Siegen lane, on college drive..It seems like there was always something up and coming under Kip. Under SWB.. It feels stagnant.

I want to go on record here. First, OweO doesn't pay bets off. Second, he's right with that post up there.

Bundy was a serial killer before he ever went to Florida.

Well duh of course, but he’s more infamous for what he did at Florida State than any of his Wash., Ore., Utah, Colo., and Idaho murders. Everybody knows about the Chi O house tragedy.

You remember that too? Wasn’t it around the time of Tom Ed Mchugh? BR wanted to be like Austin so bad it was laughable. They were so enamored with being “weird” like Austin.

If I recall correctly, the BR delegation basically listened to what the Austin folks said worked for them, and then came up with a ton of reasons why it wouldn’t work in BR. Kip Holden did a lot of good things for BR. He helped bring downtown back to life. It took Broome less than one term to kill it again.

Still doesn't mean Tallahassee owns him like y'all have Derrick Lee. Bundy also committed at least 1 other non fsu murder in the state. It's the one that actually got him fried, rape and murder of a 12 year old in Lake City. His death sentence for the fsu murders was under review when he was executed

Seriously, it's simple, Black Female Mayor= Shithole.

Does anyone know of any city that has survived the BFM? Once you hit that level, there is no chance of recovery.

Sorry, that is the way it is.

If you search most notorious sk of Tallahassee and Florida, Ted’s name shows up among others every time on multiple sites. I’d say they own him and are somewhat proud.
He was sentenced to death in July 1979 for the two he killed at FSU and the three he attempted to kill at Chi O and the townhouse down the road. They had his bite mark on Lisa Levy that really solidified the case. The Leach trial didn’t start until 1980. Without his FSU murders, he may still be on death row today. I believe the Leach murder just expedited his already awaiting death.
Regardless, the point I made is that more people associate Bundy with his FSU murders than all of his other murders.

It's Louisiana. There's no secret that Louisianians loathe progress and technology. Don't hold your breath.

Judge John Parker's desegregation ruling which became essentially a busing order wrecked the Baton Rouge public schools in the 1980's. Ordering children to spend 1.5 hours on bus rides in the name of equality actually only sent their parents for hills. The exodus to private schools or surrounding parishes by people who put their children first has had devastating and entirely predictable consequences on the entire Baton Rouge community. Not sure how one would fix that, but since it is not even discussed except on this board -hats off to Kafka and Fall Guy among others- it is not going to be fixed any time soon.

What else would you expect from a United Methodist , commie social planner in judge's garb.
