That was a crazy time to be in BR. The entire town in such heightened awareness and stress for so long.
The fact that several murders occurred with full public knowledge of a serial killer on the loose was what was crazy. Would've thought DTL would have high tailed it out of the city upon initially making the headlines, but week after week another victim would pop up in real time. Being in the same community as an active and prolific serial killer was wild.

That’s about the time I found out about TigerDroppings. Seeing how that whole thing unfolded on here was incredible. With it being a local big story it was just a sad situation.

My buddy threw a huge party a few doors down from where Charlotte Pace was killed like 2-3 days before she was killed.

I also know a woman that’s a former prostitute that swears DTL picked her up a few times during his killing spree

I can't believe I have never heard of Dominique but after watching several docs tonight now I know. He was gay.

The serial killers, the cop murders, the floods, the hurricanes, the damn mall shootout, St. George, etc etc it’s a fricking dramatic wasteland.

Coming home from work one day, about two blocks from home I passed a house taped off and surrounded by police. DTL had killed the woman living there.
I think I live about 2 miles from where Sean Gillis lived, but don’t recall ever seeing him or recognizing him as someone I saw.
Not BR, but I grew up about 3 miles or so from Jeffrey Dahmer. We are basically the same age, but went to different schools.

Not sure if serious, but please point out the part of the constitution that deals with profiling.
Not sure if serious but the unreasonable search and seizure part I think covers it. If you look under the 4th amendment, it sums it up for you.

Who has any connections or memory of Derek Todd Lee and Shawn Gillis?
I worked with DTL at PacTec in Clinton for a short time, and I almost beat SVG's arse one day at the Circle K he worked at on Lee. I was living down Highland at Plantation Trace apts and had taken a bunch of pennies I'd rolled to the Circle K to buy a 12 pk and a pack of cigs, and that a-hole wouldn't take the pennies. Dude was a straight up prick. Wouldn't come from behind the counter when I called him a bitch.
After DTL got busted, I got a call from a friend of mine that I'd worked at PacTec with and he goes did you see who they got for all those murders? That's when I first saw the news that it was him and we tripped out talking about him for a minute. He was a strange cat even at work.

Worked a turnaround with DTL. 50+ nights. I believe he killed Carrie Lynn Yoder shortly after being laid off.

He killed a nurse who worked at Lane Memorial in Zachary. Karma is a beotch bc later once incarcerated, he had heart issues and was taken to Lane. He did not survive.
Didn’t he kill a relative of a state leader? Got ahold of her at a Subway in WBR Parish?

I saw them both on death row while doing some work at Angola.
Weird, because somehow Gillis did not get the death penalty.

One of my coworkers was stopped and DNA swabbed about 10 times when he drove between BTR and Lafayette.
My Dad was on the DTL jury in West baton rouge. I think Tony Clayton mentioned his name in his book about the trial.

On my way hunting one morning i got stopped for fitting the profile. I’m white, driving a Jeep wrangler in hunting clothes with a lab. Had to do the swab.

I always assumed it was because he confessed to everything.
