I don’t think so. To legally change your name requires a petition to the state court. The district attorney must also be served with the petition in order to do a check for things like this.

I believe it’s 5-20 years prison with no parole. Unless he’s got a damn good defense, he’s going to do hard time for at least five years.

I hope you're right - could've sworn someone earlier in the thread mentioned someone with more severe charges getting less than 5, and that he'd likely get 2-3

Went to school with this guy, we’ve stayed in contact since. He always seemed like a genuinely nice guy. (Perhaps because he tried so hard to put that appearance on). It’s crazy because the red flags just weren’t there.
