How long have you been there? What neighborhood do you live in?
18 months now. We live in the NE area, right across the Hennepin Bridge by Surdyks.

Seattle could take a meteor strike and lose half its population and it still wouldn’t come close to being the shithole that Baton Rouge is.
What’s the biggest difference in your opinion?

This is a paid off ad, not an objective rating.

Seattle: economy is soaring to record breaking heights. Corporations of a variety of industries are moving there. Aerospace, tech, finance, etc. The overwhelming majority of the population is educated, fit, and works white collar jobs. $518 billion GDP. Weather is mild for almost the entire year and it doesn’t get insanely hot or humid. Homeless people are a problem but your chances of getting shot for no reason are slim to none.
Baton Rouge: economy is dominated by LSU, government jobs, and service industry. Crime rates are abhorrent and the murder rates are in the top 5 nationally. Less homeless people than Seattle but way more dangerous. The downtown area is basically situated in the middle of the hood. Almost half of the population lives off government assistance/welfare/Medicaid.

Texas should have at least 2-3 cities in the top 10.

This is why college grads can’t afford homes and we hear nonstop about how hard it is for young people to save money. No college grad trying to support themselves should be paying rent in San Fran.
These cities are also the best places for college grads to find jobs not sure how don’t comprehend that

Columbus is great. Not a rust belt city like Cincy or Cleveland at all.

Seattle might have its problems, but it’s still a pretty damn nice city. It blows Denver out of the water.
Seattle got bad during COVID when the city stopped enforcing any rules related to the homeless, but it's been much better since around mid 2022-early 2023 when a new more centrist mayor was elected and started cleaning up the city.
Downtown is very clean now outside of a few small pockets away from tourist areas.
