I see both sides. If I was from Iowa, You got me down here, I’m not knocking this out in 2 weeks. But there’s a ton of low hanging fruit to catch. Show progress instead of getting to 90% complete and pulling out. Sorry, I don’t understand that mentality. If guy in charge is tracking crew production, he should start cutting the dead weight. In situations like this you have 25% or more warm bodies not good for anything other than fogging a mirror and passing drug screen.

Demco is currently in the Terrel rd sub but switching could take a while plus they could just identify another fault so I dont have high hopes but its atleast progress

Read something on Facebook saying the South Harrells Ferry and Terrell Rd subs have the same issue. That brings power back to a lot of people if they can get that fixed up

you have no idea what you are talking about dude. those restoration lineman (every single one of them) are some of the most highly technically trained, bravest, hardest working people in any profession, anywhere in teh world.

if you knew just a 10th of what they have to go through to do that job, every day, you'd rethink the position you've taken from the couch

...while those guys are out there hanging from a fricking bucket, trying re-assemble high voltage delivery so that they dont kill each other doing it

They’ve tried as hard as they can to let you know that they don’t know when they’ll be able to get power back for folks and you refuse to accept that explanation.

You can believe they’re incompetent if you want, but acting like they’re withholding meaningful information from you is beyond ridiculous.

This post might be the gold standard example as to why they aren’t saying more.

“If they don’t tell me something I can hold them accountable for on my timeline, how am I supposed to be responsible for my family’s best interests?”

That’s a pretty fair take, IMO.

ETA: except the guy in charge is probably used to managing 5 to 10 people and this week they added a couple of zeros to that amount.

If you’ve never experienced an increase in capacity and responsibility like that, you really have no idea what you’re talking about.

I’ve gone from being responsible for 3 people to 300 in a matter of days and the biggest obstacle I faced was the unrealistic expectations of the people above me who didn’t even conceptually understand the obstacles in our way.

Sounds like you feel like a person with those capabilities would be compensated appropriately by Entergy.

It almost sounds like you believe you possess those skills, which begs a few questions.

Not only could I figure out a system that could give reasonable timelines and properly communicate that to my clients, but I bet many others could as well. It wouldn't be that difficult and would only require competent assessors and a bunch of minimum wage millennials that can read and type up an email/text quickly.

This same shite happens multiple times every year around the country. Technological advances plus trial runs every year would lead to a pretty organized and sustainable communications system after a few years of working the kinks out.

Why is that so hard for you to comprehend?

So you’re admitting it’s your fault the OT doesn’t have power timely?

At least that’s the question I’d ask if I believed in throwing out shitty straw men as much as you.

You evidently don’t believe compensation is a factor, so if you could do it, why haven’t you done it? Seems like you could profit by helping Entergy out right now. It’s not like you’ll have anything better to do until they get their act together anyways.

No company worth its salt should ever just put an employee in that position unless it was a freak, one time incident. Quite frankly, throwing that much responsibility on someone without the experience to handle such a thing is precisely the type of incompetence a lot of people are accusing Entergy of.

This isn't their first rodeo with storms. They should show improvement in infrastructure each time one passes. The funny thing is most people aren't even criticizing the game plan. It's just the communication and transparency.

You have shitty comprehension skills. No wonder your higher ups wouldn't just give you the responsibility of handling 300 employees without micromanaging that whole situation.

They sent an Indian to do a chief's job and I bet it backfired.

It was a freak, one time incident that’s never impacted the coastal United States in a comparable manner. I’m talking unprecedented legal damages.

The funny thing about it was the bigger, more experienced company that was our partner managing the project was more incompetent than almost anybody on this board claiming they could straighten out Entergy.

It’s almost like you didn’t even recognize that I acknowledged that the statement you quoted was a straw man in the very post you quoted.

Are you simple?

. If they can get power to that station, the coursey, Jones creek, shenendoah, and the demco customers down s. Harrell's ferry will be able to get back on soon. Probably 30,000 customers get power from that station.

thats a lot of people
would be very welcome and would add another commercial corridor with supplies

Lol, what the frick were you expecting of me exactly on here to prove that my point wasn't straw man? A PowerPoint presentation?

If envisioning a system for a multimillion dollar corporation that actually communicates with its paying customers in a timely manner blows your mind, you're the simpleton here.

Lol, no I expected you were bright enough to recognize when I was being completely tongue in check.

I added the straw man comment so that it was explicit in case you were simple.

You were full simple.

Just got this...

Entergy: We were able to complete 46% of damage assessment today while also making progress restoring critical infrastructures such as hospitals, nursing homes, first responder facilities and transmission lines. We will provide restoration estimates as soon as assessment is completed.
