Seeing as hes an attorney and seemingly was a good one, what are the chances he was able to swing a better landing spot for himself in the plea deal. Would seem like 20 years in a white collar prison would be far preferable to 15 years in a regular prison, and might keep his skull (and other parts of his anatomy) intact.

It’s state prison, not club fed. I don’t know if he’s going to Angola, but i bet it’ll be a shitty state prison for a 20yr sex crime conviction.

Don’t think those exist in Louisiana.

IIRC Louisiana doesn't have anything like a Club Fed. There are some easy billets for trustees at various installations like the governor's mansion and state police barracks but it takes being a model prisoner and/or serious political stroke. Nobody wants to be known as the one who pulled strings to give a child molester an easy time. This guy's best hope is to check in to protective custody asap. OTOH they say prison isn't as dangerous anymore as everyone on the outside thinks, so maybe he has a chance at surviving.

The lower the penalty, the higher the demand, and the more kids get raped to satisfy that demand. I got no problem with these laws.
People are raping kids for financial gain? Demand? Pervs are pervs, people aren't pervs because there's money in it.
Also, does gay porn make people gay or were they already gay? Does watching gay porn make them more gay?
Now let's turn to porn overall, does watching porn make you more of less likely to seek a sex partner? Seems after you jack it to your vice of choice, you're less likely to be on the prowl to satiate yourself.
Consistency of penalty would dictate that it should be treated as other possession infractions.

There’s a Club Fed in Louisiana, kind of. It’s not a camp but it’s a Federal Low. Edwin Edwards did his time there.
However this isn’t a fed conviction. He was convicted on the Northshore in a state trial. He won’t be going to Angola as that is for more serious, actively violent crimes. He will be going to a place like Dixie for lower priority criminals. However being a white man convicted of multiple child porn counts is going to make his life very difficult.

Troll on, baw.
Higher penalties lead to fewer kids harmed. Period. If you don’t see that, I can’t help you.

Yeah probably somewhere like Dixie or Hunt. He won’t be one of the ones who get housed at a parish jail.

Maybe Rayburn? That would suck having to smell a paper mill all day.

in state prison in LA he's fricked. will likely end up in solitary of some sort
and to Winston, once you plead guilty you're property of DOC and your lawyer's ability has nothing to do with where you end up

You just never know who is a pedo
The only thing that concerns me about these types of crimes where it's 100% media content. Not like soliciting kids online etc
is a halfway decent hacker could in fact ruin your life with a laptop while parked outside your house one night.
I'm an IT dork but not nearly up to snuff on Forensic IT tech and techniques. I assume they have tried-and-true ways to prove that the sick frick is indeed a sick frick, right?
I'd assume they can tell the difference between files transferred across the LAN vs downloaded via the ISP?
I think SVU had an espisode like this where a neighbor using their wifi downloaded bad shite.

usually if you're getting this sort of stuff there will be more evidence than just the content
like in this example, they will have his communications about it. he's going to have a hard time explaining that away

Right. I figure the FIRST thing anyone says when they come raid your shite is the ole Austin Powers Penis Pump scene... It's NOT MINEEE!
I just wonder if that's actually happened. Like a couple in a custody battle.
Instead of hiring someone to kill the spouse, the wife hires a hacker to plant shite on her baby daddy's computer.
I'd Google it if I knew exactly what to search for and not look like a frickin' pedo myself or conspiring to do that to someone.
