Authorities arrested a Bastrop man accused of setting seven wildfires in the Morehouse Parish area.
According to the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, 55-year-old John Philbert Bowers is facing seven counts of arson.
Investigators say Bowers started the fires between July 20th and August 3rd. The LDAF Fire Eradication Units and Beekman Volunteer Fire Department had to fight seven wildfires near the Arkansas state line.
They say the fires were on White Arkansas Rd., Ten Rd., Cameron Rd., Gum Springs Rd., Reservoir Rd., and Stevenson Rd.
The fires burned 27.66 acres of timber.
Authorities also suspect Bowers of setting fires in Ashley County, Arkansas.
The Morehouse Parish Sheriff’s Office, the City of Bastrop’s Fire Prevention Office, the Arkansas Agriculture Department Law Enforcement Division, and the Ashley County, Arkansas Sheriff’s Office also took part in this investigation.
Also I'm impressed with the graphic behind the mug shot

There’s so little to do in that shithole parish might as well light some fires. Glad my cousins road is safe.
