No doubt.

The I-10 W signage is lacking for post-game re-routing.

They rarely put anything useful on there. It’s usually just blank. Maybe click it or ticket.

What I love is that this is a COMPLETELY different shitshow than the one in the OP. The OP was 12 hours ago.

I firmly believe that we should remove all the guardrails and if you get in a wreck on the Basin and block the road, the people behind you should be able to kill you and throw you and your car over the side before going on with their days. Also, if you go over the side, you'd better hope for the kindness of a fisherman because nobody's coming to help you and the Basin is full of animals that aren't so nice.

Driving should be WAY more lethal and maybe people would fricking pay attention and quit driving like assholes.

It’s easy to see. I was on the basin this morning. People going way too fast, on one another’s arse while changing lanes. All while it’s raining. I saw two spin outs.

What a day. First accosted by a stupid-drunk degenerate former frat star at a tailgate party saying "I love you man" and then getting stuck in traffic. Like winning the lottery, man.

Just be happy your last name isn't V or M. They got worse than you. More bourbon please.

Since this thread is still going.... let's check in on the Basin bridge tonight...

I was searching trying to find a news story on last night's crash. Can't find anything on last night but there's mountins of old stories on fatal crashes on the bridge that make me want to never cross that bridge again. They all start the same way..

August 2015
quote:

The initial investigation by state police revealed that the crash occurred as traffic was stopped on Interstate 10 eastbound due to congestion from a previous crash.

May 2014
quote:

The wreck responsible for the traffic snafu happened shortly after 5 p.m. Friday on the nearly 20-mile-long Atchafalaya Basin Bridge when the driver of an 18-wheeler failed to stop and rear-ended another 18-wheeler, State Police said.

August 2018
quote:

Authorities say it appeared at least two people were hurt in the crash along I-10 east. Officials say it appeared a driver rear-ended an 18-wheeler, wedging the car beneath the trailer.

quote:

The verdict is $38.1 million in the case of an 11-car pile-up that left five people dead.

The crash happened in July 2003 on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. It started as a minor accident, but police say an Allied Van Lines driver slammed his 18-wheeler into traffic, causing the pile-up.

quote:

Sunday's incident is eerily similar to a September 2002 crash that killed one person when a driver careened into traffic stopped because of a minor accident ahead on the Atchafalaya bridge.

I could go on and on. It all starts as a minor accident that causes traffic to stop, somebody not paying attention comes along and slams into sitting traffic at highway speeds, 18 wheelers burst into flames and people get killed.

Once I came to a complete standstill on the basin bridge this morning I immediately knew it must be an accident and was prepared to be stuck there for a long time. The crash around 11-noon involved a small car which the trunk was smashed in all the way and the hood had damage. Also saw a travel trailer too. Glad no major injuries because the car looked real bad.
