There's a timestamp and the both you entered at printed on the ticket. When you get off, if you didn't sieve enough time on the tollroad for where you came from, they ping you.
Can we reverse this and if we get stuck on the bridge we can we fine the a-hole that took too long on the bridge just as well, or cause the massive pile up causing a parking lot over water.
My time is money.

And if it takes me 21 minutes, I want them to mail me a check for the same amount as the fine.
The extra money of doing this 5-8 times per day would help get through the Brandon years.

And yet again, no mention of the biggest problem: semis using the left lane to elephant race other semis.
Not just the semis, but ALL vehicles that don't use the left lane for passing.
There is so much data available that says lane changes are more dangerous than straight line speeding. I imagine it takes more effort and resources to cruise the highways looking for left lane cruisers when you can just collect revenue by firing the radar gun on the side of the road.

I'll accept these terms, but only if they include in the same bill: "Anytime I spend on that god forsaken bridge over 36 minutes, without getting off @ the rest area, I get to send the state a bill"
*I'll accept double the recommended time, as the beginning of my threshold
I've spent damn near 60+ hours of my life stuck on that damn thing, with recent trips taking me 5 & 7 hours to get from BR to lafayette bc of that POS

Try to settle in right behind a big truck entering the bridge with a tail behind you. They have to log you upon entry.

Big brother at it again.
If professional truck drivers act like kids and are irresponsible they need to stay off big brother’s bridge.
A CDL is a privilege not a right.
There have been way too many wrecks causing injuries, deaths and mayhem. Traffic gets tied up fir hours snd hundreds of other drivers are impacted.
Put cameras every 200 feet, I don’t care. The truckers are out of control.

Why not just do this between every exit on the interstate?
Timingvsysyems were very common when we drove in the UK. Locals told us their DMV would place liens on the cars/owners preventing them from driving or selling vehicles until the fines are paid.
There’s also a points system that will remove your right to drive.

So? The speed limit is for ground speed, not airspeed.
But this is BS for sure. Trucks are definitely the biggest issue.

what if it took me 14 one day, but 22 the previous day, are we even?

There have been plenty of wrecks on the basin that did not involve trucks that shut it down for hours. What is so important that a person has to drive 20-30 mph over the limit to save 5 minutes over 18 miles. Was on it Monday with cars passing doing at least 80-85 in heavy rain.

Just because a semi wasn't damaged, doesn't mean it wasn't "involved". Im sure plenty wrecks happen because they sit in the left lane, prompting cars to pass on the right, which leads to accidents.
Is the car right? No. Not legally. But neither is rhe semi.
Its almost a straight line the whole way. Speed is NOT the primary factor in crashes. Its the difference of speed, which makes the whole 55/60 part so mind boggling. A better law would be minimum speed limit for all. Or lets dare to dream, widen it to more lanes. The bridge was not designed for the amount of traffic today. But thats par for the course in LA.

Back in the mid 90's I had a 93 Mazda rx-7 twin turbo and coming back from Gulf Shores did the bridge in 12 minutes.
