I make coffee at home and drink that.

My coffee > Starbucks

Yep the stand alone Starbucks went out of business here, the onlupy two left are in grocery stores. There's nothing to separate it from their competitors.

Less. A grande iced coffee with a flavor shot is less than $3 after tax.

I'll stick to my 32 cups for $10.59.

They put their stores up so people go to them out of convenience. Then, familiarity takes over. They are accustomed to drinking shitty coffee, and it starts tasting good to them.

You've lost absolutely all credibility in this thread by arguing that gas stations have better coffee. So please just stop. Its clear you hate starbucks for being successful.

I'm not here to argue that Starbucks is the best in the world. But to say its not "good" coffee is laughably wrong. Then to argue that your average gas station with community coffee single serve bags that may be 8 hours old is better coffee, is...I don't even know.

ETA: I was saying I add my own cream simply to say I only order a regular coffee. I've literally never ordered anything but black coffee or an expresso in europe. So if someone is arguing that their pumpkin spice double almond milk BS coffee sucks that may be true.

ETA2: Starbucks is no more expensive then any mom and pop coffee shop. So I've never understand that argument either. A tall regular coffee is like $1.89. I've paid over $2 plenty of times for a regular coffee at mom and pops.

YNotstop is a gas station, and the ones with that grinding machine have better coffee than Starbucks.

Maybe your gas stations save the crappy coffee for when you walk in

I don't hate Starbucks for being successful. I don't hate them at all. On a very basic level, their coffee just isn't good.

* I do hate how they name the cup sizes. Around here PJ's is the only place that uses normal people terms

This is just factually incorrect.

It's certainly not great, but I will not refuse it.

Please tell me why its not good? I'd honestly like to know?

Its freshly ground, above average quality of beans, and above average quality of brewing equipment.

A lot of people complain starbucks over roasts their coffee so it can be more bitter. Unless you are buying coffee from a small batch place that light roasts their own coffee like plenty of mom and pop coffee places do, then the idea that Starbucks "sucks" is just goofy. They became what they did for a reason, they sell good coffee.

There used to be a guy here that would post about his trips to Starbucks like everyone should be impressed.

It sounds like something antiquetiger would make a thread about.

Overpriced, shite coffee

A cup of coffee is like $2.50, maybe $3.50 if you get the "venti". Free refills if you have the app.

How is that overpriced?

As for quality, it is above gas station/fast food and below the hipster/queer coffee shop on the corner.

At least it is consistent, quick (you can order on the app beforehand and just walk right to the end counter and grab n go, no lines), and there are usually some hot milfs or college girls loitering about.

I don't get the hate for Starbucks.
