Baseball hitting lessons

I can’t wait for the comments but anyway…
Anyone know of good coaches/teachers in Lafayette for private hitting lessons for baseball? My son just turned 9 and he does well at plate hitting the ball but just has some mechanics he needs to work out like dropping his back shoulder and swinging up from time to time. He loves baseball and he just had his birthday so we thought lessons would be a good gift for him

Jody is probably giving your wife some hitting lessons right now.

What's little Jaxxon's Exit Velo?

I've never used these guys for lessons but their setup is pretty cool. We go hit out there when the weather sucks
Good luck little Braeyden

Way better off getting him into welding school or learning a trade.

If your kid is 9 and doesnt have a personal hitting coach and trainer already he has no chance to make the show or even a high end travel ball team.
Just let his rec coach do what he can with him

I learned by hitting pitched bottle caps with a broom handle. I would have made it to the bigs, but pussy is undefeated.

Be a father and teach him yourself

He is 9, just work with him yourself. You will actually be wasting money paying a coach at this point.
Get a T and a net, go to backyard and hit.
If you decide to move to real competitive at U11 level, get a coach then. Fielding and throwing are much more important now.
If you are hell bent on lessons, waste that money on pitching.

I was terrible at hitting and only played a few years. I batted lefty and basically got on base by walks or getting hit.
I’d be doing him a disservice trying to work with him on the more detailed fundamentals. I got him the basics. I don’t have that much more knowledge after that to help correct certain mechanics in his swing

9/10 a decent hitting coach will be able to pick up and correct you kid’s swing mistakes MUCH faster than a dad will.
Also most kids will respond much better to a coach rather than their own dad.

We have a tee and hit in backyard. That’s about the extent of his hitting

this is why private coaches exist for the most part I believe
I will say though....don't be the parent that gets your kid lessons for a month or two and then stops when they start hitting well. It does kind of become a commitment.
$400 on lessons >>>> $400 on a new bat

Baw you done fricked up if you getting him his first hitting coach at 9. The day after Braxton was born I already hired a coach. We had him doing drills at 1 month and now look where he’s at 3 years later:

Tell him to stop dropping his back shoulder and swinging up
