Same with my dad. chevelle first car at 15 and we still have it. it never changed hands. i dont think i could ever sell it
yeah, I hope he leaves it to one of us. it will never be sold if he does
his gun collection is next level too
he has 16 m-1 carbines of every era you can imagine, all in perfect condition
he has a 100+ year old french 8 gauge in a handtooled case with original shells
when he opens the many gun safes it is like a museum, just a meticulous pack rat. he knows the backstories on every gun too
we love going over there and visiting him, awesome man

I watched some of it, and it made me feel old. Some of the used muscle cars from the late 60s that you could pick up for 5 grand when I was in high school were going for the price of a small house.

he thought about changing the engine to the ZZ
If it does have the L79, he was wise to leave it in there considering everything else is factory original. Glad he is preserving it the way it should be. Hope it is yours someday.

Awesome pics. It does seem like a down year. Hopefully next year we are in full stride.

Yep, I went in 2017 after watching it on TV a few times. Excellent time.
They had this kind of small road course set up with Dodge, Ford, and Chevy, and you could ride in several cars like a Corvette, Mustang, Challenger, and Charger, and the drivers were performance drivers who would push the car fairly hard while driving the course.
Was a lot of fun

He left out the fun part of the answer. We take it down to the Quarter on nice days when we are in town, and damn if every older gentleman in town doesn't walk up and talk to us about it at stoplights/intersections.

$275K! 1970 Chevelle Custom. No, not a LS6 & 4 spd. A LS1 coupled to a 4L80E Auto Transmission.
Dang, Somebody definitely wanted this one and was willing to pay.
$175K 1970 Boss Mustang 302
$132K 1968 GTO Ram Air II 400 ci, 4spd.
