If inflation went up 8% and fell 8% you think the price should stay the same?

5 x 15 = $75/day
250 x 75 = $18,750 gross increase
The ones saying this is wrong can all go slob on a fat dong. The barber provides other more expensive services and others probably tip even more than me so this is a rough estimate.
And he works some weekends so it is likely even more!

The price of gas and food goes down as inflation slows along with the price of materials to do business like the supplies a barber or anyone else in the service industry would use. When this happens, the price for their services should follow accordingly, but it never does.
Oh boy…. You don’t need to be a Mensa member to understand supply/demand forces aren’t the same as inflationary forces on the price. They work in a symbiotic nature but aren’t completely dependent

Do you understand how “overhead” works?
Posted on 6/1/23 at 10:43 am to PropofolPapi
I have no idea what she charges. I give her $30-$35 and call it a day.

Understandable but this service industry fad of increasing prices because everyone on Facebook is saying "inflation sucks and Joe Biden increased gas and egg prices" is annoying.

He has no overhead other den da U.S. government.

Gas and eggs aren’t the only thing that’s increased, you idiot.

This certainly helps explain some of the things that you've posted in this thread.

My Barber use to charge $15, I gave her a $20 and told her to keep the change. Then she went to $18 and I gave her a $20 and told her to keep the change. Now she's at $20 and and I give $20 and she has no change to keep.
So now I give her $35.

That’s the point. There are other issues at play that cause inflation. The only inverse is deflation and that’s a whole other set of problems. Slow steady inflation is the only way our monetary system works. We over cooked that and now we all most pay the price …literally

No shite you dense frick. This is their "reasoning" for increasing their prices on the rest of us.

I was already paying the guy more than the base price with a tip.
So you were tipping him more than the actual price for the haircut? You seem kinda stupid.

As do I. I don't expect my employer to give me an $18,000 raise overnight because of it.

I don't get the whole tipping barbers and stylist.

Serious question...Do you have a job?
How does your spending power today compare to 4 years ago? Are you spending more today on everyday goods than you spent 4 years ago?
So is he.

A 5-8% raise isn't absurd in this environment.
When was the last time he increased prices?
