Bar Soap and my lifelong struggle

First off, thank you OT for taking this post. I didn’t know where else to turn. I was raised in a conservative family and taught the value of not wasting. I have tried to live that by not throwing out a bar of soap in the shower before it is done….adamantly using it until it basically down to a grain of sand. As the years have passed, I’ve gotten heavier and harrier. So many issues….I lose control of said soap, drop it, and even lose small pieces in my man mane. I’ve tried to fight the good fight, but I have grown weary.
Therapists of the OT, what should I do? Do I continue and honor the traditions of my childhood or can I throw away the soap before it gets too small? What is small anyway? How do measure that? It’s just too much. Thank you for your help on this important issue.

You save them all up until you have six or seven slivers. Then get them all wet and make a new bar out of all the slivers. You are welcome.

Just wet it and stick the small piece to a new bar of soap. Press it out firmly so it mends yo the shape. Just let it be, and your next shower is with a new and even bigger bar of soap. Not rocket science.

Birds shouldn't use soap.

Or just get a new bar and add the sliver to that. No need to save slivers when you can just add them to the new bar each time.

That begs the next question. Do you throw it out when it comes off the rope or try to finish it off?

My wife is the same way. She’ll keep the bar of soap until it’s the size of a quarter. I make too damn much money to do that. I replace it once it’s thin enough to start bending when I make a lather.

some people can't even afford soap.

I vow to never fall like soap on a rope.

Throw your slivers in your dirty clothes hamper. Makes it smell better then get you a fresh bar. Also, unwrap your soap several days before you will use it. It dries the bar out a little and therefore lasts longer. You'll still get plenty of suds.

When it's near the end of its life you open a new bar and stick the old bar to the new bar.

Are you trying this hard as humor(it’s not funny) or is it really this hard for you?

This is what rich people like me do because we can afford to buy a whole stack of ivory soap.
