As I recall, it was a slur by a team about another team in the Midwest. Maybe Nebraska? Someone in the sec stole it and repurposed it about LSU even though arguably LSU tailgate food is the best of any SEC school. They decided to troll with it just cause

BBQ in Austin gives yall a run for the $$ but I do agree since it's so rare for me to have legit Cajun food and the fans are always so warm and inviting

I never understood the corn dog thing either.

An opposing fan smelled all of the cornmeal used for frying seafood and said the whole place smelled like corn dogs.

They actually stole it from Oklahoma fans. I believe they said that about Nebraska fans. Could be getting the teams mixed up but it’s definitely a stolen thing from Big12 fan bases.

Forgive me, but isn't the "Wood in some batter" thing the crux of the product?

The wood is supposed to be in the meat.

Yeah, about every 5 years or so, some half-wit tries to revive the thing that never was...

Auburn fans or something said something about us smelling like corn dogs or the campus did. Who gives a frick. Corn dogs are good. And if that’s trashy, frick being classy.

Tailgating with chandeliers in a tent on a rug with chaffing dishes burning sterno is gay.

One thing we all need to accept is that there is nothing classy about being a college football fan. Corn dogs ARE good and it was awesome when I thought it would be a thing but it just kind of went away without anyone noticing.

NFL being several orders of magnitude worse but yes, that is the verdict and early consensus sentiment stares glaringly and points at the dual threat QB era and all the cultural accoutrement served alongside as the crack in the hull that sunk the ship.

I mean, it’s possible that the auburn student smelled some battered shrimp or something else frying and associated the smell with corn dogs. That would make sense.

Isn't it because when Katy Perry guest hosted one of the Gameday broadcasts she said it smelled like corndogs because everything was fried?
