I will take them over the stick person family stickers. They at least serve a purpose.

I remember back in the 80's, the local fire department would visit schools to show their equipment to the kiddies, answer questions, talk about fire safety and all that crap. They would also give you these reflective decals to put in your bedroom window. I remember it was oval shaped, and had a silhouette of a fireman carrying a child. It was supposed to help firefighters know that it was possible a child was in that room when responding to a fire.

Then there was one of those crazy 1980's rumors going around (like the Satan scare and the guy under your car with a razor blade cutting your tendons and AIDS needles in theater seats scares) that pedos were using those stickers to mark a house to kidnap kids from, so people stopped using them.

what does this mean? If the firemen show up at your accident and you dont have a baby on board sign, do they just pack up and leave or something?

No, if you're involved in a pileup they'll rescue you first. Every driver in Baton Rouge should have one just incase.

Still see them all the time and one of the dumbest things ever.

I blame women, women do stupid stuff like this. Now let us discuss stick families.

The theory is that they'll know to look for a person who is small and possibly unable to communicate and therefore may be difficult to find.

It so first responders know that there is a small child onboard who may not be able to get themselves out of their seat without some assistance

I think the reason to use them is to let others know why you might be driving using extreme caution. Like hey I know I pulled out really slow back there and made you brake but I got a kid in here, so they may back off rather than treat you like an a-hole.

They were stupid 30 years ago and they are stupid now. I can't believe those are back.

I'd hate to be a first responder looking for the baby that happened to not be in the vehicle at the time it wrecked because he or she was with grandma.

But I guess in general it's a helpful tool.

I hate the "Watch out for motocycles" stickers. Like, I choose to drive a deathtrap so YOU have to be more careful.

You don’t have to watch out for me. If you swerve over while you’re on FarmVille into my lane you’ll end up with a dent in your door from my red wings

I'm kind of ashamed to admit I am 36 with a kid and another on the way, and it never crossed my mind that is their purpose. I'm going to have to think long and hard about my stance on them now
