2 - Suck it up, women are emotional at best, pregnant or just after it can be 100x worse. This too shall pass unless you cut and run because you really don't want to be there.
3 - Be honest with yourself, you dated her 2 years because you were banging her. In your 40's you should have known within 6 months if she was a keeper and married her or cut her loose.

You were living the life. One week playing house with a girl, the next week living like a bachelor. You were hoping to keep that going. I know. I lived the exact same thing.
Now you brought a child into this world because you decided to shoot your load in her. It's YOUR fault. It's on YOU. You better man up and do the right thing.
She's physically tied to this baby. She's hurting, scared, uncomfortable, worried about finances, worried about the baby, taking care of her other kids. You can chose whether you want to participate in this shite or not. She can't. She has every right to be crazy because could you imagine switching places with her? I wouldn't want to do it.
You wanted to be a 50% boyfriend, flirt with your boss, go out drinking, lay around watching tv, and then play boyfriend the weeks she was available. Now you're planning to be a 50% dad. You've already accepted the role you wanted.
If the child was 10 and you asked it what it wanted, I bet he/she would say I want my dad 100%. You owe it to this child and this mother to give it the best effort you can and do what is right by them.
Get back together with her. Try and make it work, move her in with you. Support this family. Be a man. Not trying to be harsh, but right now you sound like a coward ready to jump a burning ship, when your mates need to be rescued. Be the hero, not the loser.

This, for sure. Your marriage was awful. If you feel like you've tried to work things out with this chick and it can't be done, then forget the relationship part of it and focus on the parenting part. And lawyer up if you have to and get your fair share of custody. It will cost money but it's better than not seeing your kid.
