Check up there baw. None of that is cool.

My son and his wife are having twins. For their gender reveal they had her mother as the only person who knew. She got plastic baseballs with halves that would snap together. She then either put pink or blue powder inside two balls. My son's wife pitched the balls, one at a time to my son. When he hit the ball, it would explode into a cloud of either pink or blue. It was a cool idea and everyone had a good time without being labeled
Some friends of mine did the same thing recently and posted it on facebook. I thought it was a cute idea.
I'm not big on gender reveal parties, but I'm not going to hate on people that are. I'm sure having a baby on the way is really exciting and they just want to celebrate with family and friends.

Congrats. Let's have this convo in a few years when every weekend is overtaken by your kids friends birthday parties. Then mix in a gender reveal for a girl with no kids, while your wife is tired and busy chasing your kid around during he party.
Damn son. You sound miserable and unhappy. I think you have bigger problems than your friends reveal parties if this sort of shite bothers you that much. I've got 4 kids under 4(just had twins 6 months ago)and my weekends are filled with stuff I'm expected to do for my kids whether it be parties, sports, or school functions. You do it because you love them and because it makes them happy. You sound like a self centered prick that's constantly worried about how you're inconvenienced. Maybe you and your wife should seek counseling. She might be happier if you helped with this:

I have no idea it was possible to not enjoy them
I've never been to a party in my life where I was upset with the host for inviting me in the first place. If I'm not enjoying myself I'll leave - it is pretty straightforward. I don't stay there while I'm miserable and then run to TigerDroppings to criticize people who enjoyed themselves.

You sound like a douchebag speaking in absolutes. You need to learn how to speak for yourself only.
Well youre wrong. NO ONE cares about gender reveal parties and EVERYONE THAT GOES is only going out of obligation. The people that truly care will either be at the hospital when the baby is delivered or at the series of ultrasounds leading up to the birth. If people actually do care, then they aren't humans. Theyre more than likely amphibians.
It's OK to speak in absolutes when they absolutes are true. Asian women are incapable of becoming even below average drivers. They are only ever going to be terrible drivers because that is their ceiling. Another absolute...fat people will always blame their fat bodies on anything around them but themselves. They are incapable of accepting responsibility because they have proven that they have no inner will or self control, two traits that are necessary to be able hold oneself accountable.
Disclaimer: Im sorry if this post offends the Asian fat fricks at UC Davis.

Is it sad that a random person on the internet is so under your skin?

quality company,
So now mother in laws are quality company? Id rather take my kids to the beach, golfing, playground, and their friends parties. The expectant mother has a long ways to go.

I hate these parties more than anyone and I'm very glad they didn't exist 10 years ago when my ex-wife was preggers.
But... had they existed, I probably would have went along with it had she wanted one. Pregnant women are hard enough to deal with. I would not want to get into an argument with a hormone crazed woman over some stupid arse party.

If you're a good person, and people actually like you, it is plausible that they're genuinely interested in your happenings and it has absolutely nothing to do with "attention-whoring." In fact, I've found that the people who denounce "attention-whoring" the most are often the least sociable and, dare I say it, the most jealous of the attention they're criticizing.
Over sensitive much? I have no problem chit chatting about your kids or sharing accomplishments, posting pics online. I talk about the kids if asked about them but I think that's a little different than spending your whole working day planning a party while others are waiting on you to get your report done or turn in your work. Does a 1 year old really give a crap about the theme of their party? Just give them some cake and ice cream and they are good to go.

Or because they live busy lives and this is one of the rare opportunities they can spend time with their friends and enjoy each other's company.
But the rest of your post was pretty funny.

My in laws are awesome.
If you have good friends and families= you enjoy parties
If you have no friends and shitty families= you would rather stay at home and post on tigerdroppings

It's quite possible. Especially when the mother hosts the damn thing during a major sporting event.

Sorry guys I have to leave the conversation to take my daughter on a field trip. People who think GRP's are narcissistic must have miserable lives and families.

So watch the fricking game. Or don't go to the party. Wow that was hard.

These parties are also a product of facebook. If there was no facebook for women to post these pictures to, there would be no gender reveal parties.
