Arlene Howell was born in Delhi, LA (also the hometown of Earl Holliman) in 1939 and raised from age 13 in Bossier City.
She won the 1958 Miss LA USA pageant*, and in July 1958 was crowned Miss USA
A few months later, she played the female lead on Maverick
For some reason, she spends most of the episode dressed only in a skimpy outfit
She was signed to a contract by Warner Bros, appearing in their hit series 77 Sunset Strip. Eventually she won the female lead role on Bourbon Street Beat.
Her last TV work was a Gomer Pyle ep in 1966
*Her real name was Eurlyne. In a curious coincidence, the previous year's winner was Earlyn Regouffre of NO

Little Pattie was an Australian singer. In August 1966 she was singing for Australian troops in Vietnam when the Battle of Long Tan erupted. Under gun and artillery fire she was evacuated by jeep and helicopter. Because of her experience she became a life-long advocate for Australian Vietnam War veterans. They were crapped on like the American veterans were. Little Pattie I guess was like Ann-Margaret.

Wayne had just finished a song at a Non-commissioned officer's club near Da Nang in South Vietnam Wayne was hit by a bullet fired from a .22 pistol, fitted with a silencer, which had been stolen at the base. Wayne was the first Australian woman killed during the Vietnam War.
Sergeant James Wayne Killen was originally convicted of the unpremeditated murder of Wayne; at his first court-martial it was alleged that he was aiming for his commanding officer, Major Roger E. Simmons. Wayne had intended to use money earned from her performances in Vietnam to revive her recording career; and to marry her fiancé, Clive Cavanagh, who was the drummer for her performance troupe, Sweethearts on Parade. Killen served two years of his sentence in the US, before a second court-martial cleared him of the charge and he was released.
