I'm guessing you're single. My car insurance for wife (no pics) and teen son runs around $9k. Haven't shopped it in a few years but will soon. Have to add little brother to the account and add another vehicle in January. Good times......

Louisiana Rate and Rule Filings

I don't know if changing carriers will change much. Once a rating is approved for one insurer, seems that others follow.

Yep. $800 a month for three cars, wife (no pic), and two teens. Fing racket.

Louisiana also has some really shitty laws. There is a law in Louisiana that says if a claim is less that $50k it won’t go to jury so almost all claims are for $49k in Louisiana and the companies just pay it rather than go to a bench trial. So yes again you can thank your average personal injury lawyer as well.

Unfortunately, whoever is in that office would be six of one, half dozen of another.

Unfortunately, auto insurance is basically like cable or cell phones in that you basically need to be shopping around every 2-3 years to get the best price.

Different insurers will have different preferences worked into their ratings, for instance if you have great credit and good claims history, Travelers would be a really good company to get a quote from because they put more emphasis on credit than most other insurers. They are also very selective and require both home and auto. This has helped them maintain a good loss ratio that can keep their premiums in line. Just because company a and b are approved for the same increase doesn’t mean one won’t be cheaper for you than the other.

GEICO's business model is built on the laziness of the American consumer.

When they initially write a policy, they are generally the lowest out there. Then, every renewal, they raise rates. Since Americans don't shop their insurance, it is a highly successful model.

They need five additional ice sculptures at the executives' year end party hosted by Kenny Rogers in Fiji. Those ice sculpture don't pay for themselves dummy

I thought about that but joined an anarcho-syndicalist commune instead. It's pretty sweet when it's your turn to be executive officer, but the bi-weekly meetings can be a pain.

This can't be said enough IMO. These POS leaches have wedged their way into all La insured drivers wallets and are legal crooks.

So the insurance companies that have a law requiring all drivers to have insurance and are increasing premiums haven't wedged their way into La insured drivers' wallets?

Think about it.

I don't know what in the hell our LA Insurance Commission does, but they are worthless and can disappear for all I care.

Mine went up 20 a month with Farm Bureau for no reason

I'm buying used cars from now on. I'll ride in a moderate car before paying big bucks on Ins. for new ones .
