When I14 is built it should ease traffic through BR...

It will be about an hour north, though, likely the Natchez bridges

Let me know how the political infighting works out with Iberville, EBR, WBR, Ascension, Livingston all fighting over the route and which Parish loses tax money the route didn't go through their area.

Furthermore, this project won't even get started for 20 years and that means more urban sprawl which further complicates this Bridge.

It is almost easier to Route I-12 from Walker to the Baton Rouge Airport and building the new bridge there.

Quite honestly though this is all a pipedream because by the time a new bridge is finished it will be a shortcut through Morgan City.

This is going to be a shite show before they decide on anything.

At one point there was talk of building a new bridge in Addis and the proposed area went near neighborhoods and those people campaigned against it.

No matter where they decide to build it, there will be people who will be pissed off and will try to fight it, but they need to do something.. but this is something that should have been in the works years ago.

Looks like the proposed routes have significant impacts on EBR, WBR, Ascension, Iberville, and Livingston.

A bridge too far south is going to piss off WBR and EBR though as it would cut them out of potential sales tax revenue.

Addis may be the best crossing. Seems like that would complicate the feeder highway on the east side, but it would be the best route for addressing traffic issues in Baton Rouge and it would provide something for every parish.

I guess they could turn parts of LA30 into a freeway with service roads? Seems like the railroad tracks would complicate that.

yeah... way to far south. Use your exit point on the west side of I-10 to Hwy 190 and just widen the 190 bridge with elevating airline from the river to I-12.
