deservedly so at this point. absolutely ridiculous.
Yep. The Parade Ground on Saturdays is a perfect example of this. Every weekend it's absolute insanity that didn't exist 3-5+ years ago.

The only campus organizations nation wide that kill people on a semi regular basis and are allowed to continue.

What I dont think you're understanding is that the actions of phi delt do not represent the other fraternities.
Sigma Chi and Kappa Sig alumni have both covered up major hazing incidents for the wellbeing of their fraternity. These are adults, grown arse men. Instead of reporting the actions to the university, they have chapter reviews. Eventually Sigma Chi was kicked off, but they held out for as long as possible. Had a member die and they still didnt kick them off.

BRPD brought the DWI van out to the Parade Grounds one Thurs night and told the fraternities to have a "couple of beers" and walk over to blow into the machine. Intent was to show how you may feel fine but aren't suited to drive. It quickly turned into who can blow the highest number and they had to shut it down.
There is no rational thought with college kids and alcohol.
Under developed brains.

My son is a freshman right now at LSU. This one hits home for me. Prayer for the family and the students who will be emotionally impacted by this tragedy.

As someone who has had it, unaidded alcohol poisoning is rare. Really rare.
I bet the Penn state guy that died of it doesn't think it's rare.

I never said I was brave, you stupid frick. I was pointing out that it's hard as hell to get alcohol poisoning. I'm not brave, I'm an alcoholic.

quote:Probably, but a lot of DAs are very politically motivated and this type of case gets lots of press. For that reason, I wouldn't automatically read into it that the DA has a solid case, or even thinks he does, against 20+ people.
The quick arrests and the numbers of them, if they are to be believed, certainly indicates the DA thinks he's got plenty of probable cause and a decent shot at a conviction or two.

and you thought a fifth in a day was a lot?
Yes, I did. Like I said, I couldn't physically drink more than that. I was unconscious. My whole point was that it's not always friends 'forcing' kids to do it, some of us are just stupid.

The amount of shite that goes down on LSU's campus that never reaches the general public is absurd. This goes from Greek Life to armed robberies. Everybody is covering shite up.

Seriously though I'm not in a fraternity so maybe I just don't get it someone help me out.
Why do fraternities haze people?
And please don't tell me it's for brotherhood and to bring people closer because if that's your best way to bring people closer then you're in a shitty organization.

At least in the military there was always some sort of training value to the hazing.

Fun, tradition, earn your way, subconscious revenge for having it done to yourself.
I'm sure there's a psychological study out there somewhere.

So can we expect pat downs to come back entering the stadium?
