You think the alumni want to deal with this kind of shite?

I think you highly underestimate how caught up some of these old turds get with their fraternities.

the stupid part is how the binge drinking, hazing and whatnot is pretty much celebrated on social media.

look up the different IG accounts of DIFS, rightwingu, and a host of others and most of their shite is aobut chugging beer, liquor and shite like that.

would it surprise anyone that this dude may have died trying to do some dumb shite for the camera ie downing a whole bottle of liquor?

eta: i'm ready for the downvotes.

It's not hard to do if you're not used to drinking a fifth a day on a regular basis. All it takes is a lot of 80 proof over a short period of time.

20 guys there watching this guy drink himself to death because he feels forced to drink, and not one stepped in to stop it?
I don't think there is a legal duty to stop someone from drinking himself to death. There would need to be more than that for criminal charges.

What would keep frat brothers from just walking over there as a group anyway? Or meeting up over there as a group?

All Greek Life organizations at every university have a number of policies on the books for the sole purpose of using in case anyone tries to exploit loopholes.

Things are about to get interesting. After the stabbing and viral video of the fight Saturday, F. King had enough. He has put out the order...this is a PR disaster for LSU and he wants to crack down and clean up the mess. There are meetings going on to figure out how to reign in the "problems". This incident is only going to make it worse. He wants more undercover officers cracking down on public intoxication, underage drinking...you know, the usual tailgating stuff.

Agreed. Its only when something tragic like this happens that everyone starts pointing the finger and acting like they've never been drunk before.

Seriously, how fricking stupid do you have to be to force someone to drink alcohol, let alone liquor, let alone 180 proof liquor. Idiotic

None of them want people to die, though.

I've never understood hazing in fraternities. Like hey pledge we're going to force you to drink a frick ton of alcohol and make you do stupid shite so you have the right to hang out, drink, and do stupid shite with us.

At least in the military there was always some sort of training value to the hazing.

lol, how'd we end up measuring dicks about alcohol intake back in the day?

and you thought a fifth in a day was a lot?

They dont want their fraternities to be suspended for actions completed unrelated to them also.

Incidents like this although rare have occurred before. It's a tragedy and bullshite this kids life was taken so early.
That's 2 kids now from Roswell Ga that have lost their lives freshman year at LSU in a decade.
Fights have happened numerous times well before King stepped foot on LSUs campus. Hell I've seen grown men fight inside tiger stadium in front of children.
With the addition of social media it's been extremely difficult for universities all across the nation to real in incidents.
There's not much F King can do except add more undercover law enforcement or stop drinking all together on campus. The latter will never happen.

You can't kick off all fraternities when a large portion of donations come from fraternity alumni and when out of state applicants are already very low. A new lazy river isn't going to get kids from georgia to come here.

Neither will an 18 year old from Georgia being transported to a hospital from a fraternity house and dying of alcohol poisoning.
