Is this the thread where a bunch of people who identify as conservatives defend extremely liberal concepts like state-mandated dresscodes?

the op highlights some extreme examples sure

but imagine getting pulled out of work to go pick your daughter up because she is suspended for a day for wearing shorts that are too short.

that might seem a little ridiculous to you as well

It was the liberals who were complaining and demanding the dress code be relaxed.

I believe in uniforms for schools not because of some weird big government fetish, but because we now don't have to have a government employee dealing with dress codes. It's simply easier for everyone.

But if you aren't going to have uniforms, then I think the dress code should exist.

Was the parent at home when the kid got dressed?

If my kid went to a school that didn't have uniforms, it would be clear to the kid what is acceptable to wear. So if that happened to me, I'd be pissed... at my kid.

How about not letting your daughter wear shorts that are too short to start out with? Then you won't have to go pick her up from school.

i could see wear this would seem outrageous if you grew up in louisiana catholic schools that require 1950s esq uniforms.

but you are just going to have to take my word for it that in 2019 in 2000 student coed schools, the aisd dress code had gotten ridiculously strict. a bunch of parents didnt sign the petition so their kids could dress like whores and the school board didnt approve it for no reason.

This is to help curtail the teacher/student sex problems.

I think it's outrageous and I grew up in 1980s with no uniform. We just didn't dress like whores/trash.

And my kids went to school in the 2000's and had uniforms. Khaki pants (plaid skirt for girls)with white or blue or green polo shirt. No fuss no muss.

I believe you.

It also seems like they went in the complete opposite direction. Maybe it was possible to relax the code a bit without going this far.
