What else are you refusing to do? Attend a college or NFL football game? Fly in a plane? Refuse to let your kids attend high school? The policies Audubon is enacting are hardly unusual in today's world. I'm kinda surprised they didn't already have those rules. It's sad, maybe, but nothing to get bent out of shape about.

Sorry to hear about your butt probing. Unless you liked it, then congrats, I guess.

Would love for you to explain to me how having a picnic with my kids under the oaks is incredibly selfish. Please- detail how this is a good policy and that there is a specific threat to the zoo by bringing a cooler in.
Its a fair point and I'm not sure why so many people are attacking you for it.

I’m sure the FBI has informed the city to inform places that deal with tourists/large crowds that:
1. There is a suspected terror cell operating in NO right now with accomplices potentially still on the loose.
2. One MO was using two coolers with explosive devices on bourbon street.
I mean, if the zoo lets people with coolers in now and god forbid something bad happens, people would be like seriously? Even after NYE.
Audubon trying to protect people and you are mad you can’t have a picnic.

It may make sense for the Aquarium where people are crammed into a compact area, but not for the zoo. There are plenty of gaps in its perimeter if one wanted to sneak something in, which leads me to believe it’s a money grab.
The concessions at both venues are awful.

Yeah man, it’s a zoo concessions money grab! I want you to really digest this one. A zoo concessions money grab is your conclusion here? This is the moment they’ve been waiting for to prop up their struggling concessions. Eat a bag of dicks you fricking retard. LOL.

"All bags will be inspected"
Get you one of those insulated backpack bags and put some ice packs in it. Not a difficult fix.

We can't take advice from a guy who doesn't know the meaning of simple words like random.

For all the negative things we say about NOLA and it certainly does have its flaws, the Audubon Zoo is quite nice imo.

If they were serious about safety, they would ban electric assault vehicles from their parking lot as well as deny entry to EV owners.

I’ll buy overpriced zoo food so my kids don’t die.
Or you could bring food then picnic in Audubon park after the zoo.
I wish New Orleans had some good restaurants to go to.

They should do “random” bag checks on whoever they want.

My job isn't to beat the terrorists. My job is to keep my family safe and happy. I may be going to the zoo on Saturday and I support these changes completely.
