It's a piece of public art that will cost less than 200k and last 10 years. It's in a very touristy and gay friendly part of town (near Piedmont Park). Overall not really a big deal.

I thought the same thing. Politicians have reached a record level of pandering.

What other forms of 'art' can we spend $200k of tax money on and locate in public ROW? And who gets to decide?

I'm not complaining. I'm simply asking why does homosexuality need to be celebrated? I get that some people are gay and that's their choice and I'm fine with that but does it really need to be announced with parades, flags, and sidewalks?

Makes me think Atlanta is trying to get all of its gays to walk in a continuous square. Maybe this is an ingenious way of keeping them in one place?

Yea I guess you have to be a pervert to cross at this intersection?

This is great. I just moved here yesterday and am about 5 blocks away from this intersection.

Love my new neighborhood and city. A really cool, unique, and progressive thing

Seriously? Art? It's a friggin crosswalk painted to look like the gay pride flag. I'd hardly call that art.

First person to get injured in a car accident at that intersection can cite the sidewalks as a distraction and sue the city for a frick ton of money

It will be the most rear-end accident prone intersection in the city!
