Its weird how you pop culture aficionados get feelings hurt because other people don't like your vapid entertainment options.

Please, one masterpiece by these Migos. Please post it here. The entire OT will repent if they can only be allowed to fathom the lyrical mastery of these Migos.

I didn’t know who this guy was before this morning.
He is still objectively wildly popular

Why is a famous and rich person hanging out at some bowling alley in the hood late at night?

most of yall are just so ignorant and think that all rappers are bad people. lets not act like other music genres have bad role models. isnt most music across all genres about sex and drugs anyway?
What other music genre has people in public shootouts on a consistent basis over absolutely nonsensical hood pride shite?
I mean
You are correct. Not all are bad. No group of people is 100% anything.
But let's not act like it is not a clear cut statistical landslide.
Not all dog attacks are pitbulls and not all pitbulls attack. Pitbulls are still trash.

This news sucks. He was a good dude who was the quiet one of the group.
According to what?
You spend time with him at shootout dice games?

Met him a couple times. Extremely nice guy, RIP

I also agree that there are problems that come with it. I didnt live through the punk-rock era but wasn't that viewed as bad influence music when it was first introduced onto the scene?

According to the OT he deserved to die because he was a rapper.

I was vaguely aware that Migos was a rap group, maybe a rapper. I don't buy into the "garbage people" claim. The culture of Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton among others solved disputes over "respect" with gunfire.
I don't take any pride in my ignorance of pop culture, but I do question the musical taste of anyone listening to the rap that's getting recorded right now. The genre is really in a rut. I listened to Versace and another Migos track today, and they sounded to me exactly like what I expected.
"One-two-three / one-two-three / one-two-three (pause)" over and over again. It's like listening to an old pickup truck trying to start. There's no diversity of theme, just endless tracks telling us how rich the rapper is and how he grew up on the streets.
Rap is a victim of its own success. If you tap into the right cultural trends (use of emerging slang, personal appearance) the music doesn't matter. The "coolness" is just assumed. The emperor really has no clothes here.

Punk? Nah.
Hair metal sucked, Disco sucked but Punk was pretty benign.
Rock has black metal which is where a bunch of fake badasses pretend to be hardcore. Hair metal was a feminine compromise to authentic metal..
Rap isn't alone, there's plenty of shitty genres, Bro Country being at the top.
