Seemed to still sort of be a thing at least into the early 2000s. I remember getting stuck FOR HOURS in that shite after the 2001 SECCG. Definitely seems a lot different these days. Glad to see they can have a nostalgia weekend.

The Lenox mall flash robbery was actually “all star weekend” if I remember correctly. I was working across the street at maggiano’s when it happened. They busted up Dillard’s so bad the cops couldn’t enter the store while it was going down. FWIW, worked every pride and freaknik from 94-04. If you were service industry you tried your damndest to schedule off those weekends.

Freaknik is like an urban legend in the Atlanta area. Everyone always talks about the how much fun and crazy it was to experience it.

No they aren't. Andre just went to one of Big Boi's kids graduation and they threw a free concert together. That was the fist time they had performed together since like 2016 or so when they went on a world tour for the 30th anniversary of one of their albums.
They are still really good friends. Andre is just a weirdo and says he gets bored with stuff quickly. Hell he was just prancing through some airport playing the flute last week.
